will it be too much heat of I only have about 3 gallons of water in the tank?

We would recommend the Zoo Med 25 watt Paludarium heater for a 3 gallon tank instead. With that small amount of water, the Turtletherm heater will be fluctuating on and off more often.

Can this heater be used in a plastic tank?

The turtle therm heater can be used in a heavy duty plastic tub. Like the large plastic livestock water tanks.

is this 300 watt heater good for a 60 gallon tank?

The 50 Watt heater is suitable for up to 15 gallons of water, the 100 Watt heater is suitable for up to 30 gallons of water, the 150 Watt heater is suitable for up to 50 gallons of water, and the 300 Watt heater is suitable for up to 100 gallons of water.

Can this heater be used in an outdoor turtle pond?

The digital display sets this unit apart from other similarly priced units, it has a nice low profile and is set and forget. Overall an excellent product from brand I trust, now just need to see what the longevity is for this product, as that is the main reason I researched and found this item, the brand I have been using seems to only last for a year of service. While these are fairly inexpensive, in the past my prior brand lasted for several seasons, but they must have made a change because that is no longer the case.

Submergible heater

I like the style I like how it tells you the temperature of the water it’s great for my turtle. She doesn’t pick on it and it heats up the whole 90 gallon tank

Works great

This heater is holding up great so far, it keeps the tank at a pretty even 78, and it doesn't burn my lizard (who likes to hold it while she sleeps).

Turtle Proof Heater

My turtle is so tough on anything put in her habitat. We lay this heater down on the bottom and she started using it as a recliner. So far it's been great.

Frustrating

I like this heater and it works well short term, but this is the third time I've had to replace it in less than 2 years. I'm grateful that Chewy allows replacements,

I like this heater and it works well short term, but this is the third time I've had to replace it in less than 2 years. I'm grateful that Chewy allows replacements, but I think I'll look for a different heater when it comes time to replace it again. I read (and reread!) the instructions, followed all directions correctly, but the heater still stops working after a few months and shows 99 on the screen.

Used in a 50gal Tank for a RES

It accurately heats tank, I give it 4 stairs because it sometimes hums but I do have sensitive hearing so idk lol
