Important Information

Fleas rise to the top of your pet's coat as they die, so consider it a triumph if you start seeing more fleas at first, after treating your pet. If you’re still seeing fleas after application, it may be because your pet has picked up new fleas from the environment, which may include other pets, surfaces and outdoor areas. It may take up to 30 days to break the entire flea life cycle. Additionally, you should also treat sources of new fleas (i.e., carpet, yard, etc.) to ensure complete flea control.

Answer by ChewyNov 26, 2020
Under normal conditions the product is effective for a month. However, in case of severe flea infestation, retreatment may be necessary earlier than 4 weeks. Do not retreat more often than once every 7 days. After flea control is attained, return to a monthly retreatment schedule.

Not for people with Allergies

It seems to be doing it job with the fleas. Buyer beware, it is scented. The floral sent which most people probably like on a stinky pet. But if you’re allergic to perfumes or are you simply don’t like it, I don’t recommend this product. I think the packaging should have indicated it is scented.

This Product Helped my Dog

My dog wasn’t on any prevention, and my neighbor’s dog had fleas which spread to my yard. I would see them crawling under my dog’s fur and she was scratching non stop, but when I used this, the fleas on her were gone the next morning! All the scratching stopped and I have not seen a single flea in over a month

Highly recommend ordering from Chewy.

This was my first time ordering from Chewy. The price was less than any retail store, the site was easy to navigate, and delivery was very fast. The driver was pleasant, also. I wish I would have ordered from them sooner.

No longer effective

Pets were treated regularly, but a stray cat got into my apartment and my cat and dog both got fleas. The fleas were able to survive and the infestation got worse later, leading to tapeworm. Talked with my vet and they said Advantage was no longer as effective because the fleas in my area have built up an immunity to the product.

well tolerated

My dogs tolerate this flea treatment the best out of all the topical treatments. It does what the company says it will do.

Reliable for my needs

I have used the advantage II for many years. It kills fleas in all of the life cycles. I know that there are other brands that take care of different issues but this has always been exactly what I needed. I am very satisfied with this product.

The Smell is Horrible

My dog had seizures with oral flea prevention meds and my vet recommended Advantage II since it doesn’t contain the same class of medicine. The day after application and three or for days after my dog stinks to high heaven, kind of like a chemical, rotten, moldy smell, to the point where I’m actually nauseated being around her. The product seems to work, but I dread using it and may have to find an alternative. A google search reveals others are having the same problem with Advantage.
