We were recently adopted by a feral cat we estimate to have been about 9 months old. When she came into the house she was doing a great deal of scratching and licking. A bath revealed a few fleas so I tried a flea collar, which helped, but not enough. So I tried Advantage XD Small Cat Treatment. We noticed a slight improvement within a couple hours. It's now been a month and she's not scratching and licking all the time. No fleas on her or in my house. Even better - no side affects or reaction to the pesticide, which was a big relief. I'll definitely continue using this product not only on her, but also on a couple other feral cats in the neighborhood - if they let me get close enough to them.

So, first time I used this on my cats every single one of them got nauseated and threw up within 30 minutes. That said, the nausea was not so bad that Goose, my cat with a blood clotting disorder who tends to vomit blood when nauseated (typically if vomiting more than once), actually was seriously sick from it-he even tolerated it well. Just one vomit and done for them. The small cat pack is easy to put on but the large cat one has a ton of liquid to spot on. Second time using it, not a single one of them got sick or nauseous. Either the first time takes some getting used to for them or it was just their nerves. And I had 12 cats to dose so a pretty good sample size all things considering. Even my baby girl with all the allergies to everything tolerates this really well. No balding, no fever, and no nausea since the first time we dosed them. It takes care of the fleas fairly well and only having to dose them once every 2 months helps reduce the anxiety factor with the nearly feral ones. I'm happy with it.

5 of my 6 cats had skin issues from this flea treatment. They spent days trying to scratch the treatment off. Fur flying everywhere. Two weeks later, they are still scratching themselves where it was applied to the base of their neck. This was the second time I used this product. The first time was 2 month prior, and they did not have this reaction the first time. This is a very sticky liquid, and makes a sticky mess on the fur that is hard to clean off.

This is more of a review of Chewy than it is for Advantage (which is great, btw). My original order of the treatment was damaged in transit. I wrote to ask if there was a way I could purchase a single dose to replace the one that was missing from the carton. Without word or missing a beat they sent me an entirely new package! This company has more than once went above and beyond good customer service. They consistently respond with grace and compassion each and every time. Your loyal customers are so because of this. Thank you!!

Worked to get rid of fleas

We noticed a few fleas on our kitty so we got this. No more fleas a few days later! I think we caught it early so we were good.

Please stronger flea medicine

It’s the only thing I found that works. They were covered with fleas. It’s the only way that it worked.

Doesn’t work

It’s been 2 weeks and my cats have fleas again. I’ve treated the house; humans aren’t getting bit, so it’s not like we’re “infested”. Applied 6/25/25 and by 7/3/25
