Important Information

Fleas rise to the top of your pet's coat as they die, so consider it a triumph if you start seeing more fleas at first, after treating your pet. If you’re still seeing fleas after application, it may be because your pet has picked up new fleas from the environment, which may include other pets, surfaces and outdoor areas. It may take up to 30 days to break the entire flea life cycle. Additionally, you should also treat sources of new fleas (i.e., carpet, yard, etc.) to ensure complete flea control.

How does it work?
Answer by ChewyOct 15, 2017
Advantus Soft Chews use the active ingredient Imidacloprid as an oral flea treatment that begins working within an hour to kill adult fleas.

Is this completely safe for my dogs? There is so much u hear on these prescription flee pills I’m just really scared to give them anything.
Answer by ChewyJan 04, 2018
This product is safe for dogs 10 weeks of age and older, and weighing between 4-22 pounds. It does not contain any animal proteins and is suitable for dogs with animal protein food allergies. It can be used together with heartworm preventatives, antibiotics and shampoos. A study demonstrated that Advantus achieved greater than 96% effectiveness against adult fleas within 4 hours.

Can you use topical flea treatment (drops) with this
Answer by ChewySep 03, 2019
Advantus can be used with other products including heartworm preventives, corticosteroids, antibiotics, vaccines, de-worming medications and shampoos.

If I still see fleas after giving my dog the Soft Chew for 7days straight do I continue to give it to her?

Works great for my smallest rescue boy

My dogs are on Nexguard normally but sometimes between doses it starts to wear off a little in the last few days or so. Hes only around 5-6 pounds so i use the pill splitter to cut these in fours. And give him a piece every few days.

Great product

My daughter's fog was infested with ticks. One dose gone and he's not looking listless . He is jumping around ,running and he is 14 years old will continue using. Thanks hated all the sprays tropicals etc. So much easier and it worked!!

Great product

It doesn't take long for this stuff to work. We had issues with taking the puppies out to parks and coming home with fleas bad. Now we give them one chewable every month. Everything else we had tried didn't work.

Not So Bad!!

This stuff does work better than the drops, but too bad it is a daily dose. It is also a bit pricy! For a 30 day supply, it would be a better deal if it were $30 since it really does wear off after about 20 hours. Our toy poodle does not like the taste and refuses to eat it as a treat so I chop it up and add it to some soft food. She eats it then but reluctantly. ;-) Some of the chews are harder than others too. Makes me wonder how fresh the whole bottle really is. They do help a lot & I feel most of the indoor fleas are gone. So I will continue to buy them.

Serious issues for my dog

This may be good for some but was not good at all for mine. Within hours of his first dose it caused him to have neurological issues and muscles spasms. I thought he had been hit by a car. He couldn’t hold his head up and at one point just walked in circles. If you tried to touch him he yelped in pain. I was about to take him to the vet but that evening he was back to normal. But same thing again the next day after second dose. Thankfully my husband had read something about certain medications having this affect on dogs so we didn’t give him anymore. He hasn’t had a problem since.

Absolutely useless

I actually bought these from a local pet store but they are useless. They have done absolutely nothing for my dog.

High price low quality

High price for low quantity and quality product. would not buy again or suggest to anyone to purchase. did not kill fleas on 7 lb dog for even 24 hours in a treated yard and home even after a flea bath. Save your money...
