Some cats need more time and encouragement before they start enjoying a new food, especially if they’ve been eating dry food only, or a wet food with artificial flavors, corn, wheat or soy. If your cat doesn’t go for American Journey at first, don’t worry as this is totally normal. A little patience goes a long way. Aside from following the recommended transition instructions, here are some tips to help ensure a smooth transition:

my 6 month old boy is picky about wet food and he cleans his plate with american journey. i picked it because there are no byproducts, corn, wheat, soy, peas. i like the ingredients and the price per ounce for the turkey/salmon is cheaper than fancy feast. i only wish that the other flavors were the same price and i dont get why they arent. i want to switch up flavors to give my boy more variety eventually. im happy so far that my boy has been eating it happily for a few weeks now.
My Maine coon has become very picky and has had some stomach issues. I have changed food frequently to find the right one. He liked this food so I'm sticking with it.
American Journey, wet food Okay Still looking for low protein cat wet food . Liked larger cans
I have been getting the American journey for a long time. there were days that my cats would be like no I don't want any today but just recently my last couple of orders they will not stop eating.i have many cats I ordered 4 cases a month If chewy had made a change in the food keep it this way. I did notice when I shake the can there is more gravy . My guys love it.
We have a cat rescue. We'd been feeding other comparable foods, but had to supplement with Friskies. When we switched to AJ, our cats eat it without having to add anything to change the taste. Amazing. The texture is smooth and soft, so cats with stomatitis can easily eat it.
This is very good pate; my cats eat it well. The smell is inviting when opened, it comes in several different flavors, and is the most economical grain-free canned that I have found. I recommend it. The reason for four instead of five stars is that in every shipment, you can expect dented cans. I once received two boxes in which every can looked like it had been dropped from tall building. So bottom line? Very good product that needs better warehouse management...
There is no question this cat food has quality ingredients, to include some "buzz" ingredients that I consider (flaxseed, berries, natural, taurine). Fillers will be present, but grain-free at least suggests this considers the levels of protein, fat, and fiber. It's really no myth that cats can be finicky once used to a brand (right now the 10 week old kitten will eat anything), even if the other brand is roughly identical in ingredients, let alone cost more. Our cats love the minced. Our 11 month old will "try" to turn his nose at pate's (no matter the brand), but when he is really hungry, I have certainly never had to throw any of this brand away. I mix it around to suggest quality food is what their life will just get used to (our pets already live the dream). You have probably read that moisture content is important. One little note, there is a difference in consistency between the 12.5 oz and 5.5 oz pate's. I do highly recommend this cat food, and I feel good feeding it to our pets. You just need to be prepared (and I am not an expert in any era for manufacturing quality pet food) to not run out.
I've got a houseful of cats, with one very sensitive tummy, I tried the chicken and the plain turkey, they got bored with the taste after the 6th can, but ended up eating it grudgingly so the turkey and salmon was a winner, no one turned up their nose through the entire case. very happy
This and Wellness (my cat prefers pates) are the only wet food she consistently eats, and this is more affordable so I'll keep ordering as long as she keeps eating it. I like that it comes in large cans and is healthy.
My cats love this food. And I love that it has no meat by-products, carrageenan, or cheap carb fillers.
