Use 1/2 cup (8 tablespoons) of API AMMO-CARB for each 10 US gallon of aquarium or pond water.
Rinse thoroughly under cool tap water to remove any loose dust. NOTE: AMMO-CARB does not need to rinse clear. Place in filter inside the filter cartridge or in a filter media bag. Follow filter manufacture's instructions. Replace AMMO-CARB every 4 weeks, or sooner for heavily stocked aquariums or when ammonia, odors, or colors are detected.
Tip: Ammonia in an aquarium is produced by fish waste, uneaten food and organic debris as well as from chloramines in tap water. Even trace amounts of ammonia stress fish, suppressing their immune system and increasing the likelihood of disease. High levels of ammonia quickly lead to fish death. Test water weekly with an API Ammonia Test Kit or Test Strips, and replace API AMMO-CARB when testing indicates the presence of ammonia.

I've used this product for many years and have always had excellent results. The water is clear, the levels are where they should be and the fish are happy. I've tried other brands, but this has always worked the best.

After several days of trying to clear the ammonia from my tanks, I received the Ammo-Carb. Soon after adding it to my filter (I checked 24 hours later), the water tested almost negative! What a relief!
