Treat bacterial infections in your fish and reduce the risk of spreading illness to other fish with API Melafix for Healing Bacterial Infections. Bacterial diseases are caused mostly by dirty aquarium conditions and the addition of infected fish. Fish that are injured and have open wounds are especially susceptible, even in seemingly clean tanks. Bacterial infections, like fin and tail rot, eye cloud and mouth fungus can destroy tissue and other organs, and if left untreated, can lead to fish loss. API Melafix is an all-natural antibacterial treatment that's designed to heal open wounds, treats bacterial infections and promote re-growth of damaged fins and tissue, usually within a week. Just add 5 ml per 10 gallons of aquarium water. This solution should not adversely affect the biological filter, alter the pH or discolor the water.

API MELAFIX will treat your fish’s symptoms in freshwater and saltwater aquariums. If you are treating fish in a marine or saltwater aquarium, dose with API MARINE MELAFIX.
Many disease symptoms will be clearly visible, such as white streaks, lesions, protruding eyes, and other unusual marks or spots on your fish. If you suspect your fish has a disease, it will fall under the categories of fungal, parasitic, or bacterial. One way to diagnose is by matching fish symptoms to the description of a wide range of API medications, which include treatments specific to Ich disease, Betta fish, and various common symptoms (hole-in-the-head, eye cloud, fin & tail rot, etc.)
API MELAFIX is safe for delicate fish species, all marine fish, and reef aquariums, while Bettafix is specifically formulated for Betta fish.
API MELAFIX heals bacterial infections such as fin & tail rot, eye cloud, popeye, body slime, and mouth fungus. As a general note, all API medications can be used in conjunction with each other safely, as long as you are able to follow the directions for both during treatment. We would not recommend using more than two medications at a time unless you are certain of the diagnosis of multiple ailments, so that you can tell which medications are working or not working while troubleshooting a stubborn symptom or disease.
It is normal to see some foaming when using API MELAFIX, and it is not harmful as long as the proper doses were given. In terms of duration, the foaming of this product can last a variable amount of time depending on what is dissolved in the water. Water that contains a lot of dissolved organics or proteins can experience more foaming that lasts for long periods of time, but in general, if foaming lasts more than a week after discontinuing the treatment, we would recommend more frequent water changes and the addition of Activated Carbon or Bio-Chem Zorb in order to eliminate any remaining medication. Make sure that skimmers are turned off during treatment, as this would contribute to excessive foaming. It may be prudent to turn the skimmer pump flow down when it is restarted after treatment, to account for medication residues until they clear from the system.

I had a lethargic goldfish and upon further inspection found that he had a fuzzy fungal coating all over his body, then realized he was blind. I dosed my 1500 gallon pond with 2 bottles and his fuzz is gone and he is back to his normal active self. I'm still hopeful that he regains his vision, but he went from dying to healthy again. And it never hurts to dose the other fish to keep them healthy. Melaluca is amazing stuff!
I had a Neon Tetra that was exhibiting what I learned to be "Swim Bladder" (I had to do a little research)... Poor little guy could not swim straight and I was sure he was going to die. I decided to try Melafix after reading the reviews. I used it exactly as directed and within 2 days could see a vast improvement, by the 5th day he was swimming normally again. I continued to add Melafix for a full 7 days as directed. Amazing product!
This helped a goldfish with half his tail ripped off. It regrew! Noticeed an angel with pop eye. Fixd that too
Cheap price and good product also fast delivery , the website is very easy to use
This product seemed to work as described. I added the recommended amount to my pond water. I had on goldfish that had some type of white growth on it. After 2 days the growth was totally gone and the fish are all doing fine.
I had an issue with tetra cotton mouth. I did the treatment for 7 days and my fish look soo much healthier. It worked and it did not hurt my live plants or baby fish. Great product!
This product can save a sick fish in a 24 hr period better than any other product on the market. I have used it for years. I’ve been involved with fresh and saltwater fish for 49 years.
This saved my male dragon scale betta, Merlin after getting stuck in a tank decoration while I was at work, he skinned up his back pretty bad, had the wound closing up after a week, Highly recommended using pimafix and aquarium salt.
Love Melafix for my fish. Great product for my fish. great price.
A couple of days after using this my fish has died. My irreplaceable fish. A Betta that came when you called him, fed from my finger, and enjoyed being "pet". He traveled with my last year half way across the country. This makes me super sad. For fin rot, find another way. RIP Betta Bob : (
