IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION

Do not use Apoquel in dogs less than 12 months of age or those with serious infections. Apoquel may increase the chances of developing serious infections, and may cause existing parasitic skin infestations or pre-existing cancers to get worse. Consider the risks and benefits of treatment in dogs with a history of recurrence of these conditions. New neoplastic conditions (benign and malignant) were observed in clinical studies and post-approval. Apoquel has not been tested in dogs receiving some medications including some commonly used to treat skin conditions such as corticosteroids and cyclosporines. Do not use in breeding, pregnant, or lactating dogs. Most common side effects are vomiting and diarrhea. Apoquel has been used safely with many common medications including parasiticides, antibiotics and vaccines. See full Prescribing Information.

Good for My Ace

My 70 lb fur baby has been struggling with a severe case of environmental allergies since he was born. No matter how much cleaning I do, wash his laundry in free & clear detergent, use pet safe floor cleaners or anything else I do to make sure he doesn’t have a reaction on top of such a severe reaction to what seems to be to just air at this point lol, he just itches in ways that make me want to help him scratch. I am sorry for the reviewer who had a bad experience but my dog has been on apoquel for 2.5 years now and has never had any side effects to it. His energy levels actually come back because he is no longer busy tearing his skin apart and welp everything is simply back to normal. I would have given it 5 stars but for some reason so many people have a hard time believing when they see all 5 star reviews so I am only giving it a 5 to let you all know I am a real reviewer lol but my experience is a 5 star rating. Without apoquel, my dog has no chance at a normal life and that thought breaks my heart. I wish it were a little less for the 16mg cause while it seems pretty cheap to those that do not use it daily like my pup, I promise it is pricey when you live on fixed income and are spending close to $200 monthly on just the apoquel part of his needs meds :( But outside of that, Ace and Mama bear here, are very happy.

Great Product

Apoquel is a godsend for my dog. He began itching terribly within a couple weeks of an increased, high dose of his Trilostane for Cushings disease. The itching was so bad he would yelp, while trying to scratch. I contacted his vet, who put him on Apoquel, 5.4mg once a day. He said it could be increased to twice a day if necessary. One dose helped him for about 12 hours but then he began itching again. So, I gave him 1 pill in the morning and a second pill 12 hours later. It works like a charm. No more itching! I wouldn't be without this medication.

Great prices

Chewy has the best prices and best customer service for their pharmacy. My Frenchie has to take this medication daily. I have shopped around looking for the best price because there isn’t a generic brand and this is pricey. Hands down Chewy’s prices were the best. They contact your vet and upon approval the meds are shipped to your door. So easy! No extra trip to the vet every time you need a refill. Chewy does it all.

So, yes check out Chewy.com, for your fur baby needs.

Apoquel For Allergies

Both of our girls are taking Apoquel, but different milligrams. Chewy's price is more to my liking than buying from my vet which is more expensive. My girls are recent rescues from the south and have allergies, hopefully these will clear after they get use to their new environment.

Itchy baby!

This is a really good product . My 92 lab/pit bull mix has really bad seasonal allergies . The vet recommended this and creed has been taking it for a week and he hasn’t even scratched ! He usually has a lot of dandruff and that is even going away . This is a great product , i would recommend this over any other medicine

Works great

One of our dogs has allergies so badly that she chews herself raw. Antihistamines don't work and prednisone has bad side effects. She's been taking Apoquel for about a month and she is not chewing on herself, scratching or loosing hair. It is working well so far.

No thank you

The only reason this is getting two stars is because it did keep my dog from licking at his paws, but the side effects are not worth (at least for my dog). I have a 13 y/o Bichon and we just moved and I noticed him licking a lot at his paws for the first time ever so the vet recommended this for environmental allergies. He was on it a month and he became so lethargic, overly thirsty which caused him to need to go out much more frequently. He wasn’t really eating his food, he seemed like he dropped a couple of pounds in just a month. All of these are side effects. So did he stop licking his paws? Yes, but I think it was because he was too lethargic to actually care. Also regardless the side effects do not make it worth it. I stopped giving them yesterday so hopefully he will have energy and be hungry again soon.

LIFE CHANGING

We have an 11 year old female bloodhound/lab mix. She is a beast of size and just a sweetheart. We noticed about 18 mo ago that she was continuously scratching, whining while rolling on her back and flailing around to satisfy an itch. This was followed by sores and scabs all over her body. She has been on once a month flea tab for years, has swam in our pool since birth and stays inside. We tried natural oral meds, topical meds, topical oils, baths once a week, once a day and so on. We went to the vet and it was recommended to try a shot of Cytopoint. We came home and thought we had found the cure. Two weeks of nothing at all, then after a few days it started back. My mom had used Apoquel on her chihuahua recently and had a wonderful outcome. I was very reluctant due to everything we had tried so far was useless. I told my husband we would go out on another limb and try this. It is worth EVERY SINGLE PENNY!! Our 95 lb baby has been back to her happy go lucky self and has not itched for one second. We are on our second month of taking everyday inside of a soft treat and we will never stop as long as she is happy. Please give this a try if you are at your wits end with your fur baby!!

apoquel for relief of bug bite allergies

So far, it seems to work. My dog won't take it willingly, even with a pill pocket. I stick it down her throat and offer her a piece of a treat to wash it down. Wish it could be administered once a day, needs to be more cost effective, and the containers. Please have mercy on us elderly with arthritis. Couldn't get it open so had to use a screw driver and all the pills fell in the sink and got wet. Please people provide caps that are not childproof. For many of us they are elderly proof as well, which is not practical. The prescription now is in a plastic baggie.
