Changed formula which is now finer clay and smears/tracks all over house
Have been using this brand for a year and loved that it was unscented and a reasonable price. They upgraded the packaging which made it easier to open the box which was great... HOWEVER The new box has different litter than the previous box. It is fineparticles that turns into silt-clay, sticks to the cats feet and smears all over the house. It doesn't clump well and sticks in the litter box when it automatically turns, and you have to manually scrape it out. Even when you clean with wipes, there is a fine film of clay all over everything when it dries. The old box was difficult to open, but the clay was coarse and I never had an issue with it tracking. This hasn't been a one-off issue with the new box, I bought 5 of them and they are all fine-particles that smear everywhere. Unfortunately will need to find a new litter, I don't recommend this because its been an enormous amount of work cleaning the floors in my house everywhere. The old formula was great. My house is a mess because of this litter. Would recommend a different brand unless they fix this issue.
Smells like a diaper
I switched from Tidy Cat to this because Tidy Cat must have changed their formula which was excellent. But recently the litter was reeking like pee and smelling up my whole house. In an attempt to save my household, I switched to this. Now my house doesn't smell like cat pee but instead smells like a diaper. It's gross! And the clumping is frustrating. It's not solid it's very muddy and hard to get off the sides of the box. I don't know what's going on with cat litter but it's all pretty frustrating now. Now back to trying to find the perfect litter.
Smells/clumps poorly/tracks
I bought this because it is in a box. I used to use another brand and it was great but too many bags showed up ripped. The delivery people at my new apartment are surely manhandling heavy packages. Chewy was gracious, as always, and replaced the ripped bags but it is a hassle so I tried this. Terrible. I should have read the reviews. It absolutely has a perfume smell and I am sensitive to smells. The cats track it everywhere and it doesn't clump properly. Next!
still tracks, also smells...
Was using a Tidy Cat unsented formula and switched to this b/c TC was tracking litter everywhere. The tracking was less with this brand (although not non-existant) but I can't put up with the smell. No matter how clean I keep the boxes it still smells. Will be switching.
Not as advertised
I loved this litter out of the box, no scent, easy pour, I literally went to my computer to order more. But my guardian angel said, "wait, see how it goes in use." After the very first use, I noticed more litter tracking than the non-advertised litter (same brand)!! This stuff is showing up everywhere it did not used to!! The only reason it earns a star (well and because I have to give it at least 1 star) is for the lack of scent. I'm baffled as to how they can label this "low tracking." I would NOT order again.
The title on the box says it all
Although there's some dust created when scooping up the litter box, this product offers what it states in the box. We love this cat litter because it does not have any perfumes or dyes which will make your cat sick and/or create a funky odor when there's urine in the litter. We strongly recommend this product for your cat. It is affordable and it works wonders.
Better than Most
This is so inexpensive I had my doubts about it's actually clumping power and odor control, but I find for the price and and pounds it's the best deal Chewy has!! Great clumping means no messy litter box, super odor control means I can forget a scoop here and there. Great product, definitely worth every penny!!
Bad smell
I've used many clumping litters and by far this is the one that smells the worst. I scoop every day and typically do a full clean each week but this litter makes my house smell so bad that I had to do a full clean after just 4 days. Disappointing and I wish I wouldn't have bought two cases.
Awful at clumping
The worst cat litter I've ever used - if you're on the fence, don't get this one!! It doesn't clump well at all. The second I tried to pick up a urine clump, it disintegrated and left wet pellets all over the litter box. This is also the only litter that has made me nauseous and my eyes burn while scooping it. My cats don't seem to care but I'm going to continue my search for a good litter.
great
I got a 10 wk old kitten and breed was using this along with fresh step. I bought this and the fresh step unscented clay clumping. Once in the box, they look the exact same; can't tell which is which. The 40 lb box is heavy, but seems to have more litter than the other brand which has 4 10 lb bags. Just need my husband to lift it, and have a plastic cup to scoop it out. Great price and fast shipping with Chewy.
