    Change for the worse

    By on

The old version of this food in aspic was one of the very few foods our fussy cat would eat. She won't touch the new version, and I can't blame her. The texture has changed completely, and it has a different smell. There is also a lot less white meat in the can. I'm not sure I believe they changed it simply to get rid of the carrageenan--this looks like a lower quality food. Now I'm stuck with another 47 unopened cans. I would have liked a warning from Chewy that it had changed.

    Bring Back the Old

    By on

My cat loved Tuna and Chicken in Aspic. He's been eating it for years. The second the recipe changed over to the new "gelee" formula, he won't go near it. Takes one bite and walk away. I'm really bummed because we ordered so much and he's not eating it. Bring back the old recipe!

    New Recipe No Good

    By on

Our cat LOVED the previous version of this food in aspic, but will not touch the new recipe. Weruva told me it was changed in response to customer demand to remove carageenan and was otherwise the same, but it seems completely different and my cat won't touch it. He'll eat the BFF packets, which have a more liquid-y texture, but there is something off-putting about this formulation that he refuses to eat. I hope Weruva will listen to customers and reformulate this.

    New Formula not the same!

    By on

Like the previous reviewer, my cats LOVED the previous formula of this food. It was a compacted semi-moist tuna and I would mix it with water and they would lap it up. Without warning, the formula was changed to a puree blob - and you now get half as much tuna as you used to. AND... my cats won't touch it now.

    BFF NEW FORMULA TOO ABRUPT

    By on

My cats absolutely hate the new formula. There was an abrupt change instead of a gradual change. Waste of money , time and aggravation between email department , phone calls and warehouse order process. I did not get what I ordered and was not given notice of any changes in the formula prior so that I could have tried slowly introducing the new formula by combining the old with the new.

    Fiske approves of this

    By on Top 500 Contributor

My youngest kitty Fiske ended up trying this food, when I bought a few cans from a local shop. Since he is so finnicky, I always need to try him out on something new before committing to a full case. I noticed right away it was a bit dryer then other BFF formulas, but he still licked and licked until his bowl was empty. Finnicky Fiske boy was appeased.

    New formula not good

    By on

Do not like the new puree/globby substance. Used to be more solid and chewy for the cats. Will be looking for a new wet food.

Hey BFF - you spoiled a great thing!?

    By on

What happened. This used to be chicken and tuna in aspic and it looked and smelled like food. Now it is a few shreds of tuna on top of what looks like pureed black beans and smells awful. My cat will eat it, but I don't want him to. Your food used to be the reasonable priced, wholesome solution. Now? You've gone to the darkside. I bought the tuna and salmon in aspic as well. I am hoping it hasn't been changed as well, but I'm not getting my hopes up. That's 48 disapprovals.

Formula changed. Cat hates new formula.

    By on

Previous formula was with aspic recipe. My cat’s favorite. New formula is geelee - my cat refuses to eat it. BFF, please bring back aspic recipe!

    Not a Winner ...

    By on

None of my felines like this new Gelee formula and it does not appear that any of your formulas now have the solid gelatin. Now I'm stuck with trying to find another brand that does.
