Feeding Instructions

Feed according to the age, size & activity of your cat. If fed alone, feed 1 oz. for each pound of bodyweight daily, best fed twice a day. Your cat should have access to clean, fresh water. Refrigerate after opening.

Transition Instructions

Weruva always recommends switching your cat or dog's diet slowly and to adjust according to your pet's digestive stability. Typically, a 6 day transition suites most pet's needs. We recommend feeding a mix of 25% Weruva & 75% of the previous food for the first 2 days. For the next 2 days, feed 50% Weruva & 50% of the previous diet. Days 5 & 6, Feed 75% Weruva with 25% of the previous diet. Your pet should be fully adjusted to an exclusive high-quality Weruva diet thereafter.

Has any laboratory analysis been done of this to determine the amount of mercury or other heavy metals are present? I'm concerned because of the prevalence of mercury in both mackerel and tuna.

Fish will have some level of mercury, and Weruva does test for mercury, histamines and polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB). Yet, not all fish were created equally. In a nutshell, the lower on the food chain, the younger and smaller the fish, the less mercury the fish will have. Weruva uses fish that meet the FDA’s list of those lower in mercury. There are many species of tuna, some of which have high levels of mercury; Weruva uses skipjack, a smaller and younger species that has lower levels.

This variety contains 13.28% Protein content on an as fed basis (83.5% on a dry matter basis), 0.02% Magnesium content on an as fed basis (0.13% on a dry matter basis), 0.20% Phosphorus content on an as fed basis (1.26% on a dry matter basis) and 1.1% Ash content on an as fed basis (6.91% on a dry matter basis).
