About BLUE Buffalo

Blue Buffalo began with unconditional love and some furry inspiration from a large breed Airedale, Blue. When Blue's family started a pet food company, their vision was clear. They wanted every pet parent to be able to feed their pet with the same care they would feed family. So they created the #1 natural pet specialty food to help furry family members live happy, healthy lives. Of course, they named it after Blue.

How many cups in a 22pound bag
Answer by ChewyOct 04, 2020
There will be approximately 4 cups of kibble per pound. The 6 pound bag will have close to 24 cups and the 22 pound bag close to 88 cups.

What is the temperature range the food should be kept at? Is it safe to store in garage?
Answer by ChewySep 16, 2021
We do not recommend storing pet foods (even unopened bags or cans) in the garage or shed where temperatures can go above 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Exposure to air, light, hot temperatures and humidity speeds up the rate at which foods degrade. To limit these effects, keep dry foods in their original packaging and store in a cool, dry location. The kitchen pantry or an inside closet works great.

how much would you feed a 80lbs golden doodle
Answer by ChewyJun 28, 2021
The feeding chart may be located by clicking the “Feeding Instructions” tab, on the product page. The amount of food your pet requires will vary depending on their age, breed and activity level, but a pet's weight is one of the most accurate ways to judge how much to feed them.

How large are the kibbles?
Answer by ChewyAug 12, 2023
The kibble of this formula will range in size between 11 – 13 millimeters.

Works for IBD

This food threads the needle for our lab’s severe IBD and skin allergies. I dock it a star for using peas as it’s primary binder (DCM risk), but since she can’t tolerate grains, this is the next best option to her raw food (which we keep in her diet @50% so she doesn’t consume too much pea product).

Great choice - RX food

My 13 yr old bichon frise dog was prescribed this food by her vet. She loves it and I feed it to her also as a treat. Very convenient to be able to buy it at Chewy instead of getting it from the vet's office, because they are sometimes out of it.

Possible food allery

Our 1+ year old mini labradoodle was experiencing itching. Our vet wanted to rule out food allergies, as well as environmental. The food allergy portion was easy to take care of as Chewy has many different choices. She loves the BB Hydrolyzed protein food! And...the price is better than in any stores!

Blue Buffalo Hydrolyzed dog food and a topper

My fur child has major protein allergies and finally had to go on hydrolyzed dog food. Tried most with little success. Had to hand feed her to get her to eat. Then a friend brought over a tiny jar which turned out to be baby food and said try this. Put half the jar in a dish and mixed it with water. Poured it on the food and my fur child loved it. Have given her different ones and she loves them all. Best part of all it has vitamins and is good for her. For any dogs or cats out there who dislike their food try this. It really works!

Miracle food!

The vet thought my yorkie Mimi was having severe allergic reaction to protein, so we tried a chicken hydrolyzed protein that did seem to show some improvement, but I decided to try this one to avoid chicken. In less than a month she has almost totally stopped scratching and is no longer licking her paws. I may try the non-hydrolyzed form eventually, but for now am so pleased with this! And mimi is much happier

Excellent product

My dog was recently diagnosed with IBD. This hydrolyzed salmon food has made a HUGE difference! I love that there is no poultry, corn, wheat or soy. Along with his new medication, this food has made my dog healthy again. He has energy and his symptoms have drastically decreased. I'm very happy and grateful for this high-quality product.

not for my dog

I really thought this would be a better option for my dog since it’s fish. But it’s giving him terrible upset stomach and he really doesn’t like it. Going back to his royal cain food.
