Pets can be sensitive to sudden changes in their diets. For this reason, it is extremely important to follow a gradual transition plan to best support your pet's health and product effectiveness. Ask your Veterinarian about the best way to transition your pet to a new food.

Be sure to have a clean bowl of cool, fresh water available at all times.
Transition Instructions
Pets can be sensitive to sudden changes in their diets. For this reason, it is extremely important to follow a gradual transition plan to best support your pet's health and product effectiveness. It is recommended to follow a 7 to 14-day transition plan before exclusively feeding your pet a new food. Cats will often refuse mixed diets, so we recommend adding the new food to a separate bowl from the old food. For a 14-day transition plan, start by mixing 75% of your pet's current diet with 25% of the new diet on Days 1-4. On Days 5-8, mix 50% of the current diet with 50% of the new diet. On Days 9-11, mix 25% of the current diet with 75% of the new diet. On Days 12-14, you can feed your pet the new food exclusively. Ask your Veterinarian about the best way to transition your pet to a new food.

Can I use a veterinarian's authorization if it was written by a veterinarian out of state?
Yes. We accept valid authorizations from anywhere in the United States, and U.S. territories such as Puerto Rico.
Why do I need a veterinarian's authorization?

Yes, but we'll need them to contact us and provide the full name of the pet's owner after the order is placed. This is so the veterinary clinic can locate your pet's records when we contact them. Email us at vetdiet@chewy.com or call us 24/7 at 1-800-672-4399.

About BLUE Buffalo
Blue Buffalo began with unconditional love and some furry inspiration from a large breed Airedale, Blue. When Blue's family started a pet food company, their vision was clear. They wanted every pet parent to be able to feed their pet with the same care they would feed family. So they created the #1 natural pet specialty food to help furry family members live happy, healthy lives. Of course, they named it after Blue.
The kibble in this food is light brown and the life source bits are a darker brown. For visual reference the kibble is features in the Chewy video on the product page.

Works well for all of our cats
One cat needs this and the rest get it so there's no chance the special needs cat will eat any other type of cat food.
They had been eating the Blue Buffalo Sensitive Stomach for years until she started having intermittent uncontrollable diarrhea issues (green-black gelatinous and oh-myyy super stinky). Her bloodwork showed no issues that caused the problem but after the switch she never did it again.

My cat refused to eat it
I bought this food as a replacement for the Hills Bimoe dry cat food that's currently sold out everywhere (I'm guessing it's supply chain issues?). I usually mix 2 kinds of sensitive digestion foods together for my cat - well she picked out only the kind she likes and spit out this food...so there's lots of little bit of this food scattered all around her foodbowl.

Dry Cat Food That is Easy to Digest
I tried this cat food based on the favorable comments about it being effective for cats with digestive problems. It may not be working as I had hoped in that my cat gobbles her food then vomits it soon afterward; it may be too soon to tell, but she is still 'gobbling and vomiting'.

So far, so good
Kitty has Inflammatory Bowel Disease so switched her to this food from Royal Canin gastrointestinal, which was no longer helping her. In the 28 days she's been on Blue Buffalo gastrointestinal, she has thrown up only one time (a record for her) and it wasn't bad. No longer the projectile vomiting she had been doing. We both hope this continues!

Finally a Winner!
My vet recommended this because one of my kittens has a sensitive tummy. Not only does she love it, but the rest of the clan does too!!! As I’m sure I’m not alone, I’ve tried so many foods that they smelled and walked away, it’s
too many to count!

Healthy cat
My cat was constipated for some reason, and after an enema, she was constipated again. I asked my vet about this, and she approved it. I ordered it, and Cinnamon loves it (does my other cat) remains unconstipated!

Better Price
My 12 year old Meezer has an ongoing problem with constipation. I like it that this is grain free and not quite as pricey as the other prescription foods.

Cats love it
My cat grew tired of HP. He has IBD. The other cat has had a problem with constipation. This food they both love and helps them stay regular. The kibble is smaller and not too hard so it's easier to eat.
