Seems to love it
My 17 year old Roxy with elevated kidney bloodwork seems to love it. She has thrown it up a few times BUT she also ate it faster, like 4 times faster, keeping up with my 2 year old, so I think that's why. She INHALES it. I will split her feeding into 2 about 20 minutes apart. For JenL : you mentioned your cats were not fans of eating it cold. Cold food will cause any cat to vomit as it shocks their stomach. ALWAYS heat up the refrigerated food to at least room temperature.
Enjoyed by Minnie Mouse
I liked the ingredients in this food and odered it before understanding what modified protein was in a kidney diet. Purina has an early stage food that would be more suitable for Minnie at this stage of her disease. My vet didn't make that clear, and I didn't know about it at the time I ordered this food.
This is the ticket
My cat stopped eating other kidney diet foods, however she likes this brand a lot. Sometimes, when she gets picky, I add a small amount of regular wet cat food with it and this entices her to eat. I often need to add a little water to this food after it’s been refrigerated. But don’t need to do this when it’s right out of the can. We’ve noticed that she moves around much more freely and is not stiff from arthritis anymore. This product sure works for her.
Vet recommended Hills, but I went w/Blue Buffalo
My senior cat (18 yrs) had blood work done and elevated kidney levels was determined. The young vet recommended Hill's Rx. But I refuse to feed my cat and dog food with corn, wheat, soy, gluten, or by-products, as I have been well-educated by a holistic vet who specializes in nutrition and has been practicing over 30 years. Hill's products contain one or more of those no-no ingredients. I am a fan of Blue Buffalo to begin with and was DELIGHTED to discover they offered dry and canned Rx diet for kidney support - with NO corn, wheat, soy, gluten, or by-products. I bought both the dry & canned from Chewy, and Spot LOVES both. Matter-of-fact, he is right now playing with a toy like he's a kitten. I highly recommend this product. Spot and I are very happy with Blue Buffalo K-M!
Not even a lick
Despite their stellar reputation for quality and nutrition, Gringo wouldn’t even touch Blue Buffalo Natural Veterinary Diet K+M Kidney + Mobility Support Grain-Free Wet Cat Food. Finding a suitable kidney care food that Gringo will eat has been a real challenge!
Love this food!
I know Hills K/D is the gold standard, but I found out it has sugar in it. And I wanted my 18 year old furry family member to have the mobility enhancement, even though I was skeptical it would do anything. She loves this food! And, after only one week, she is back to jumping up on her favorite chair again. We haven't seen her to that in ages.
Our kidney cat
Coco seems to like it she's been eating. Not steady every day we have started her Pet wellbeing kidney care seems to be helping. She is eating wet and crunchy food.
Cat still Eating this food
recently diagnosed with Kidney Failure, my cat will taste a Kidney Formulated food, and then she is done with it. So far, she is still eating this one. So Kudos to Blue Buffalo!
Finally - something he will eat - most of the time ...
I have been searching for a kidney diet that my cat would eat. This has been a huge struggle. I was very hopeful when I found this one, and ordered a case of it to try. He will eat it. My other cats also like it. They are not a huge fan of eating it cold, and it is a big can, so he only gets half twice a day, but he eats it better than most of the others I have tried.
1 cat loves, 1 cat likes
I agree with criticisms about the texture, so I stir the BB K+M cans to fluff it up. My 1st cat (18 yo) took her time to like this, then my 2nd (17 yo) scarfed it down from his first time. Now I’m transitioning my 3rd cat (17 yo), who is fussy about all food but eating it. My vet says it’s ok to feed it to my 4th cat (3 yo), so I may do that for easier overall management. (Comment: dented cans & a case that is drier may be chewy’s issue, not BB.)
