About BLUE Buffalo

Blue Buffalo began with unconditional love and some furry inspiration from a large breed Airedale, Blue. When Blue's family started a pet food company, their vision was clear. They wanted every pet parent to be able to feed their pet with the same care they would feed family. So they created the #1 natural pet specialty food to help furry family members live happy, healthy lives. Of course, they named it after Blue.

He's allergic

What a shame, he absolutely loved it. He started "mowing" right after switching to this brand. I am investigating the heavy chicken first ingredient.... He's begun to over groom. He also had dental surgery.. IDK, honestly

Great Grain Free Food

We got this for our cat that has UT issues. This was the only grain free, UT one that we could find. I can't see the sense in feeding wheat to a cat with issues when it is inflammatory. He thinks it is so great he devours the herbs I put in it without complaint. He was thin to begin with, and I have a feeling he might lose weight, so I feed him a lot, but I'll bet this food would actually help with weight issues, too.

Trying to find a prescription diet my cat likes

My cat didn't like it. I'm gonna have to return it and get some thing else.

cats like!!

Blue W+U seems to be the best alternative for my cat with both weight and urinary issues...he likes it and even one of his sisters eats it as she has weight issues. this keeps the weight under control for both of these eager eaters.

Much to my surprise, they like it

I haven't had a lot of luck with vet diet formulations. Over the summer, one of my CKD cats developed urinary issues, and I needed to start working some urinary diet food into the rotation. Both cats turned their noses up at the Hill's wet varieties, so I wasn't optimistic about this, but they seem to like it. I only have two complaints: 1) Since my cats both have CKD and are losing weight, I wish this weren't also a weight loss diet formulation. I want them to be eating as many calories as possible. 2) One cat seems to have had a pretty severe increase in her chicken allergy, making this chicken based food difficult to feed them often. She can handle a small amount, so at most, I mix about a quarter can in with whatever other non-chicken food I'm feeding them, and she seems to tolerate that well enough. Unfortunately, it means I can't purchase this again. However, if you have a cat with urinary issues, especially if they're overweight, this is worth trying.

Stays moist

Finally a urinary cat food that doesn't dry out after opening and the benefit of weight control.

Very expensive,But good

I was prescribed this food As an alternative for Hills w/d wet food(which I couldn't find anywhere). My cat needed to loose weight. It's early to tell. But he likes it

Unfortunately Kitty won't eat

Kitty with years of urinary issues, would not eat, even mixed with another brand. Price is good but thats about it.

Still hopeful...

Finally, a product that addresses both urinary tract issues--and weight as well! And, the biggest plus is meat is the first ingredient--a must for feline obligate carnivores! Thank you, Blue Buffalo! The only issue I have is Parker is kind of "meh" with it so far, but I am hopeful he will come to like it. (I'll keep talking to him!)

New to Blue Buffalo

The first time I tried the Blue Buffalo canned veterinary diet and the dry, my 14 year old Persian literally inhaled it. But a few feedings later, he started to slack off. He had been on the Pro Plan urinary diet so he likes gravy and would leave a lot of the bits behind. What I have found that is really working with the Blue Buffalo is to add a bit of hot water to it to give it a "milkshake" consistency. He loves it. Is enjoying the dry too but not inhaling it, just normal snacking. This Blue Buffalo formula has ingredients that I am much happier with and I hope he continues to eat it. Wish they had more flavors and he also doesn't really need weight control but another thing is that it has more fiber and he honked up some massive hairballs (like three in a week) so that's a very good thing. All in all, pleased and will continue to keep him on this as long as he is willing and able (I mean we all know who calls the shots in a cat household).
