Bravecto kills adult fleas and is indicated for the treatment and prevention of flea infestations (Ctenocephalides felis) and the treatment and control of black-legged tick and Asian longhorned tick infestations for 12 weeks in cats and kittens 6 months of age and older, and weighing 2.6 pounds or greater. Bravecto is also indicated for the treatment and control of American dog tick infestations for 8 weeks in cats and kittens 6 months of age and older, and weighing 2.6 pounds or greater.
The most commonly reported adverse reactions include vomiting, decreased appetite, diarrhea, lethargy, polydipsia, and flatulence. Seizures have been reported in dogs receiving isoxoline class drugs, even in dogs without a history of seizures. Use with caution in dogs with a history of seizures or neurologic disorders.
No adverse reactions were observed from the concurrent use of Bravecto with other medications.
Fluralaner is a member of the isoxazoline class. This class has been associated with neurologic adverse reactions including tremors, ataxia, and seizures. Seizures have been reported in dogs receiving isoxazoline class drugs, even in dogs without a history of seizures. Use with caution in dogs with a history of seizures or neurologic disorders. Bravecto has not been shown to be effective for 12-weeks duration in puppies less than 6 months of age. Bravecto is not effective against Lone Star ticks beyond 8 weeks of dosing.

Instructions
Bravecto should be administered orally as a single dose every 12 weeks according to the Dosage Schedule below to provide a minimum dose of 11.4 mg/lb (25 mg/kg) body weight. Bravecto should be administered with food.
Bravecto may be administered every 8 weeks in case of potential exposure to Amblyomma americanum ticks.
Do not store above 77°F. Store in the original package in order to protect from moisture. The pouch should only be opened immediately prior to use.

Bravecto Chew for Dogs starts killing fleas (Ctenocephalides felis) within 2 hours, and kills ticks (Ixodes ricinus) within 12 hours. Bravecto Chew for Dogs kills fleas, prevents flea infestations, and kills ticks (black-legged tick, American dog tick and brown dog tick) for 12 weeks. Bravecto Chew for Dogs also kills lone star ticks for 8 weeks.
In a US field study where dogs were treated at home, over 93% of dogs ate the chew voluntarily - either by itself or with food.
Bravecto has a wide margin of safety in dogs who weigh at least 4.4 lbs. and cats who weigh at least 2.6 lbs. It is also approved for puppies and kittens aged 6 months or older.

There are no problems reported in field trials in dogs and cats that received Bravecto alongside other commonly used medicines. Immediately bathing, shampooing, or swimming should not affect how well Bravecto Chew works, as it is not a topical treatment. Coat length and grooming or brushing also have no impact on how well it works.

In a well-controlled laboratory study, Bravecto was shown to be safe in Collies known to be MDR-1 gene-deficient. Collies with the defect were administered 3 times the deliverable dose and had no adverse events.
If vomiting occurs, check with your veterinarian to decide whether to re-dose or not; however, if an otherwise healthy dog vomits within 3 hours of receiving Bravecto, it is recommended that the dog be re-dosed. To help ensure that the dog does not vomit again, it is suggested to wait 24 hours until re-dosing.
If 4 or more hours have passed before the vomiting occurs, it is likely that the medication has been absorbed and the dog is protected. If the vomiting repeats again, do not give a third chew, and call your veterinarian.

It is always best to discuss your pets' medical treatment with your veterinarian. However, Bravecto has a high margin of safety. In safety studies, Bravecto was tested in healthy dogs and puppies at up to 5X the recommended dose at 8-week intervals for 3 treatments. Therefore, no adverse effects are expected if dogs are inadvertently treated twice with the recommended dose within 12 weeks, but please contact your veterinarian.

Good
I have always used a Seresto collar on my boy but decided to give meds a try and our vet recommended Bravecto. My dog gets the yearly injections for heartworm so he didn’t need meds for that. It seems to work well we have not found a flea or tick on him since he’s been on it (he’s been on it since February). I like the fact that it only has to be given every three months but my dog won’t eat it unless I cut it in quarters and wrap it up in a piece of deli ham. That’s the only thing I found that works.
Brevecto
Just as good as the Brevecto I get from the vet and costs less. Just remember you need to get a copy of prescription from your vet and send it in at least two weeks before you need the medication.

Best product for fleas and ticks
I live in a deep wooded area and it’s full of ticks. I’ve not found anything that works better than Bravecto. A big plus is I only have to give it ever 3 months
Expensive!!!
The product was fine but the cost is astronomical. Compared to my vet's office. I'll be buying it from there in the future.

Effective product
We have used Bravecto for our fur babies for 2 or 3 years now. We live in a wooded area with a large yard. This product has proven effective for all three of dogs. It's rare to find ticks on them but when we do they are dead. It's not cheap but well worth it!
Not so great
Looks like fleas have developed a resistance to Bravecto. It used to work for our pup but he has fleas just a couple weeks after taking it. Bummer!
Seems to work
My dog has skin cancer and I have to bathe her sometimes weekly. She has not had any issues with this medication and no side effects.
