How is Bravecto different from other chewable or topical flea and tick treatments?
Bravecto is the only flea and tick treatment to last 12 weeks* with one convenient chew or topical dose. That means nearly 3X longer lasting protection than common monthly treatments. The long-lasting efficacy breaks the flea life cycle and drives fleas into extinction with one dose. And, Bravecto kills ticks faster, killing 100% of attached ticks in 12 hours – whereas other treatments can take over 48 hours.
How does Bravecto kill fleas and ticks
After you give your pet Bravecto, it quickly reaches tissue fluids just under your dog's or cat's skin. When fleas and ticks feed, they ingest Bravecto and die. Bravecto Chew for Dogs starts killing fleas (Ctenocephalides felis) within 2 hours, and kills ticks (Ixodes ricinus) within 12 hours. Bravecto Chew for Dogs kills fleas, prevents flea infestations, and kills ticks (black-legged tick, American dog tick and brown dog tick) for 12 weeks. Bravecto Chew for Dogs also kills lone star ticks for 8 weeks. Bravecto Topical Solution for Cats kills 100% of fleas within 8 hours. Apply Bravecto Topical Solution for Cats to the base of the skull for full-body protection for 12 weeks. Bravecto Topical Solution for Cats kills fleas, prevents flea infestations, and kills ticks (black-legged tick) for 12 weeks. Bravecto Topical Solution for Cats also kills American dog ticks for 8 weeks.
My dog is taking some medications for another condition as well right now. Is it safe to give him/her Bravecto?
There are no problems reported in field trials in dogs and cats that received Bravecto alongside other commonly used medicines. However, your veterinarian is your pet's health care expert, so it is always best to discuss all of your pet's treatments with them, whether prescription or over-the-counter supplements.
Will Bravecto kill ticks and fleas that are already on my dog or cat?
Yes.
Can Bravecto be used in Collies?
In a well-controlled laboratory study, Bravecto was shown to be safe in Collies known to be MDR-1 gene-deficient. Collies with the defect were administered 3 times the deliverable dose and had no adverse events.
A dog received his dose earlier than the 12 weeks. Is that okay?
It is always best to discuss your pets' medical treatment with your veterinarian. However, Bravecto has a high margin of safety. In safety studies, Bravecto was tested in healthy dogs and puppies at up to 5X the recommended dose at 8-week intervals for 3 treatments. Therefore, no adverse effects are expected if dogs are inadvertently treated twice with the recommended dose within 12 weeks, but please contact your veterinarian.
Is Bravecto recommended by veterinarians?
Yes. Bravecto Chew for Dogs is vet recommended for puppies and dogs 6 months of age or older who weigh at least 4.4. lbs., and Bravecto Topical for Cats is vet recommended for kittens and cats 6 months of age or older who weigh at least 2.6 lbs.

Great alternative than the chewable.
My dog Max absolutely refuses to eat the chewable flea and tick medications so it is nice to have a 3 month topical version of Bravecto. Chewy has the best prices, ships promptly and has the best customer service anywhere. No need to look elsewhere if they carry the products I need. Thank you Chewy - you are the BEST!
Great alternative to oral medication.
Not sure my puppy would take the oral version, and did not want to chance it, so this is the best solution.
Recommended product
I’m only giving this 4 stars because I haven’t actually used the product yet. This was recommended to me by someone who works at a veterinary hospital & says it’s one of the best. The price is very good considering that it’s for a 3 month use. I’m sure after finally applying it to my dog, my rating will be a 5!
problem packaging
Our dog,18 lbs., would not eat the chewy pill. Unable to get the lid off the topical tube easily and in the process all the contents squeezed out on my hand so we wasted our money using this product! Poorly written out instructions.
Bravecto for MJ
I feel better knowing MJ is protected against flees and ticks.
Dissatisfied
I put the topical Bravecto on my dog on July 8th. It did not work. Within days he had fleas and now I can’t give him anything for 3 months. Now my dog is miserable and I’ve lost the money I paid for it.
great product
one of my dogs refuses to eat the pill but the other one gobbles it right down. so this is perfect to rub on the pickier dog and it works.
Really Works
Flea season caught me off guard. Within a couple of days after using BRAVECTO my pup stopped scratching. She's happy and so am I.
Sooo good !!!!!
This stuff was so good my puppy is still flawless and so am I thank God
great product!
I tried to give Grace the chewable form of Bravecto, but she would not eat it - wasted the whole thing because she kept spitting it out. Switched to the topical form and not only did it work well but kept her flea-free for three months (actually I reapply every 84 days). It seems like there is more liquid in the Bravecto than in other brands and that is a little messy, but the applicator works well and she has had no side-effects. It is not expensive if you consider it lasts three months, eliminating the monthly cost and mess. A bath is in order a day after application! Customer service is great with Chewy and delivery was very fast, within three days of placing the order.
