I would attach a video but not available to do Chewy. They love this toy. Got it yesterday. Momma cat watches kittens play with it.

How do you attach the tail?

Answer by ChewyDec 18, 2025
To attach the tail, first adjust the tail connector at the end of the cat toy to a horizontal position. Then align the opening of the silicone tail with the tail connector of the cat toy, pushing while rotating, gradually inserting it.

Santa Paws brought me this toy for Christmas and I loved it from the get go! My humans loved watching me play. With some help from Chewy, they attached the silicone tail for me. That’s when things went sideways. I chewed off part of the tail and that gave my humans a terrible fright! Fortunately Mom found the piece in our gray carpet, but she thinks I may have eaten the very tip of the silicone tail when she wasn’t looking. Mom also threw out the box with the extra tails. We are all sad now. Mostly me. Meow.

From the first time the mouse rolled and spun across the floor, my cats were hooked. We started with the feathers and today I used the tail. Wow! The tail went immediately into George's mouth until the mouse movement removed it. After about 10 minutes of play, I found the tail was broken about 3 inches down and removed it so it didn't end up in someones tummy. So far, the mouse has found a way to get out of sticky situations. I'm looking forward to a lot less "Play with me because I'm bored" sessions while I have to work to pay for their toys, food, and vet bills. Also, if you register the mouse purchase, you get a lifetime warranty! Worth every penny - oh wait, pennies are no longer made. :D

Don't attach the silicone tail if you get this! My 8-month-old tabby boy is a menace and bit a chunk of the tail off within minutes of playing with the toy. I threw it away, thinking he was only able to bite off the thin tip. Well, within a few more minutes, I noticed another 1-2 inch chunk is missing... and I can't find it anywhere. I'm going to be worried sick for days now that he ate it.. Other than that, it turns over every few minutes, and I have to pick it back up. I don't recommend this, but if you try it anyway, PLEASE don't use the silicone rat tail! Sincerely, A cat mom who will now have to be checking poop for days.

Not a good cat toy IMO

Hate to be a downer, but I'm not sure why any cat would be interested in this. It's basically an electric car that would be more suited for kids/toddlers than cats - it's loud, clunky, and the wand/toy attachments are not sized properly, which means the cat basically has to be on top of the car to even play with them. For instance, the feather attachment doesn't stick out behind the car - it hangs over it. I took a chance on this product but would not purchase again.

My elderly cat rarely plays with toys but is obsessed with this. My daughter first got one for her two younger cats who wouldn't play together and they both love it and will play at the same time. It is sturdy and well made and the different tails and tail positions make it great a for all cats. Every cat in the family got one for Christmas and all are loving it!

Of my two cats, Tiger definitely took a shine to this toy right away and can hardly wait for it to finish charging. He's the higher energy of the pair, and while he doesn't necessarily chase after the toy, he loves watching it spin around and to pounce on the tail, which was shredded into tatters after a few days. Sunny, his more mellow brother, likes watching Tiger watch the mousey. All, including the humans, are thoroughly entertained.

Mesmerizing and entertaining

After a quick charge out of the box, this robotic toy was ready to go! Monkey watched with great interest as I assembled the feathers, which he chose, to the wire extension and then set the robot on the floor to go. He's really into it! :) I like the option to position the wire parallel to the floor. This is the position normally used for the mouse tail but it works perfectly for the feather wire as well. Monkey likes chasing a string along the floor. Positioning the wire in the lower, parallel setting, mimics that play. After an hour of play, here are some takeaways. A major plus is that it maneuvers between wood floor and carpets without much difficulty. If it gets stuck, be patient. I panicked a little but by the time I got up to get it unstuck, the robot worked it out on its own. Unsurprisingly, the robot wheels make more noise on wood floors than on carpet. This isn't a deal breaker for me. Some of the noises it makes attrack the cat's attention. The unpredictable movements keep the cat from getting bored. If your cat likes to hunt and chase like our Monkey, this might be just what you're looking for.

My cat was underestimated with his toys and would start hunting me down. I took him to the vet to make sure nothing was wrong with him, and he just needed some stimulation so I got him this and he is so in to it and will just follow it around and watch it! He is 6 years old and still has a lot of energy so this works out great.

I have 2 one year old cats and they love this car. They go to the toy box and pick it out several times a day! They are obsessed. And they have destroyed one of the ribbons. I need a replacement after only 3 weeks. They have bent the long wand by "catching" their prey and dragging it to their hiding spot. They play with it so much, I have to charge it nightly. Hopefully I can find replacement parts.
