My older cat, age 17 is terrified of Lazer pointers and I rightly assumed she wouldn't like these. While she didn't run and hide, she didn't want them anywhere near her.
The younger cat however, age 6 was all about them. She loves balls and Lazer pointers. She mostly liked to sit on the ball after she caught it until the lights turned off, before she hit it and chased them again.
I got some serious enjoyment watching her, it was funny. We don't have the cat track so they just rolled around. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because once they die, that's it. No recharging, no replacing the batteries, just more plastic sitting in a landfill to never decompose.
Review by an experienced feline

I was initially intrigued by this rolling ball of flashing light but as an experienced feline, I knew it was just a ploy to distract me from training my mom to refill my food bowl. Perhaps a younger and less experienced cat would chase it like I foolishly initially did, but I’m over that. Except when mom rolls it past me when I’m trying to concentrate on my nip. Or when I stretch and accidentally tap it - who put that right by my paw anyway? I’d say this toy is a personal choice. Mom kept one to annoy me with and is going to donate the other to some kittens who need to burn off that ridiculous energy. Sigh, back to my afternoon nap.
not sure about these

I was intrigued by these light-up balls, and that they would go with Catit toys that use balls. I have a Catit toy that uses a ball in a track, but actually these balls, while they do work in the toy, are smaller than the ball that came with the unit, therefore they don't fill out the curve of the track fully and are more likely to pop out. My main issue with them, although the light-up function is undeniably fun, is that they are so bright they hurt my eyes, so I can't imagine they are good for the little ones' eyes. While the balls are green in color, the light is an intense red - the color most fatiguing for anyone's eyes. Also they don't seem to light up consistently. More important, my three kitties haven't bothered. As always, though, Chewy customer service gets 5 stars!… more
Too much fun

They LOVED them at first. Then they forgot about them, until they touch one, then they jump 4 feet straight up and IT IS ON. I laugh so hard I cry every time. And they were buy 3 get one free so there's 8 of them running around. So worth it!
To hard for a cat

This is way to hard for a cat. I have six in my house and none of them like it. I can’t toss it on my hardwoods. Not a good buy in my house. Sorry

My kitten Lily always loves the balls in the tracks and I was thrilled to see that they have the one that lit up for the round track toy so it's awesome she loves this and plays it all the time. Even at 4:00 in the morning . While the house is trying to sleep.but it's all good she's adorable so she can have anything she wants. Hopefully it will have some good battery life to it and it'll last for a while but yes we rate this five paws up!
Coccopuff loves these balls!

These worked better then I thought. I figured she would poo poo them. But as soon as she saw the lights she was off batting them around the house. Weird, she seems mesmerized by the lights. A+ on this toy.
Good cat toys

I bought these along with the Catit Senses 2.0 Play Circuit Cat Toy for my 2 year old cat. She really wasn’t very interested in the ball that it came with the Play Circuit Cat Toy, so I’m glad I bought the light up balls. She plays with them on a fairly regular basis.

I think I like these toys more than the cats do because the balls that they like, they are able to put them in their mouths, but these are fun to watch and work very well.

I have the catit tracks. My cats like it but they step up the play when you add these light up balls to it!
