I really wanted to like this water fountain, because I have the green plastic one already. It was easy to put together, but upon plugging it in realized that there is a bright blue LED light that there is no way to turn off and that the stainless steel basin is makes the water drips SO loud. I am considering returning this and getting the fully plastic one instead since it’s less noticeable and annoying. Bummer of a purchase!

I already had the plastic version of this waterer and it has done great for over a year. We got a second cat and I didn’t want to have different filters for different fountains but also didn’t want plastic so this worked out perfectly. Went together easily and came with an extra pump which is nice. Cats took to it immediately.

I followed all startup instructions and after a week, I took this apart to clean and the filter was moldy, the water was yellow, and there was a dark ring of mold

Catit fountain new improvements, same quality

I have been using Catit water fountains for years and was interested in seeing how the upgraded version compares. One of the features that originally drew me to

I have been using Catit water fountains for years and was interested in seeing how the upgraded version compares. One of the features that originally drew me to these particular models is that every non electrical part is designed to be dishwasher safe. There are no corners or hard to reach nooks to harbor mold and debris. This new version has a nice stainless steel top which will show less wear and tear than the previous plastic version over long term use. The other new feature is a light that makes the fountain glow allowing for an easier view of the water level. My cat has been a little wary of that particular change but has quickly become accustomed. The central flower for a raised water flow seems to sit a bit higher than the previous version. This allows my Frenchie whom also uses the fountain with my cat a little easier access to the fresh water stream. The only draw back I have found is how the stainless steel top sits atop the fountain. There is no securing mechanism, it just balances on the fountain rim. I have found that it jostles loose when moving the fountain and can fall off easily with only a tiny notch to help line up the parts. It’s easily rectified and doesn’t seem to come apart when in use. Overall I think the fountain is a good beginner choice and a quality product that I will continue to use and recommend

I also don’t like the fact that it came with only one filter, and the top doesn’t click into place with the base, so it keeps moving out of place.

Love the blue light to see the water level

I love Catit products however in the first order i got my product had some weird crystal beads in it so I called customer service and they replaced my fountain with

I love Catit products however in the first order i got my product had some weird crystal beads in it so I called customer service and they replaced my fountain with a new one, no cost. Thank you so much. My cats love these fountains I had the plastic one but really wanted to replace it with a stainless steel. The old version which is plastic is also really good. It keeps all the debris on top of the filter instead of inside the water holding container. It's also bpa free. I love that the filter takes out the calcium and magnesium because those two elements are bad for cats.

Perfect for small spaces

This water fountain is a compact but mighty little guy! Assembly was pretty easy (though the instructions almost felt purposely complicated) There was NO weird chemical

This water fountain is a compact but mighty little guy! Assembly was pretty easy (though the instructions almost felt purposely complicated) There was NO weird chemical smells from the plastic or filter which is good because cats are divas. Got it into my office/cat room and was actually shocked by how quiet it is. This is if it is full to 3/4ths, anything below it does get a little gurgling but truly, I was prepared to be annoyed by the noise but it was almost nonexistent! Our girl cat has yet to use it (but she is queen diva and anything new takes her at least 3-6 months to come to terms with) but our boy cat has already investigated, slapped, and when I turned around last week was drinking! Last thing I really enjoy is the light feature on it which makes having to navigate that room easier when the cats are screaming in the middle of the night because they are starving (when they have dry food in their bowl)

Stainless steel lid and lighted filter.

I would have rated it 5 if I could figure out how to decrease the flow rate of the fountain. This is probably NEW user error but today that is my score.

Noisy but effective

Stainless steel fountain = better than plastic fountain. Though in this case, just the bowl is stainless. This fountain is compact and has a nice large capacity

Stainless steel fountain = better than plastic fountain. Though in this case, just the bowl is stainless. This fountain is compact and has a nice large capacity. The motor is powerful enough, but also makes a distinctive “hum” that has been driving me slightly insane. My cats love this type of fountain and definitely drink more water than previously. But, I would keep this somewhere out of earshot.
