Is the mat placed in front of the litterbox or under? What mat size would be best suited for a 16 x12.5 litter box used by one kitty (who pees a lot)?

Answer by ChewyJul 13, 2018
This mat is placed under the litter box. Depending on the size of the litter box and mat, the mat can extend out beyond the litter box for more coverage. The medium dimensions (l x w) are 23.25 x 14.96 inches. The large dimensions (l x w) are 30 x 24 inches The x-large dimensions (l x w) are 36 x 27 inches. Each size can be easily cut to fit your desired preference.

Can you vacuum this? Tried to vacuum others vacuum sucked up rubber material like rubber band.

Answer by ChewyJan 23, 2019
While this mat can be vacuumed, it's recommended to pour the captured litter back into pan then rinse in warm soapy water and let the mat air dry.

The name of the mat, and the first picture in the gallery seem to imply that the mats "link" together to create even larger mats, we would like to pave the floor in our laundry/litter box room with litter trapping mats.

Answer by ChewyMar 03, 2018
Multiple Mats may be used however, they are not designed to connect together.

could this trap bigger tray stones?

Answer by ChewyMay 08, 2019
The holes on this mat are approximately the size of a dime and should catch larger clumps and debris that come from your cat's litter box.

Nice and reliable

Perfect size for my needs! Has enough space for both catching the litter my kitten sprays like waves on a beach when he goes, and still getting most of the litter

Perfect size for my needs! Has enough space for both catching the litter my kitten sprays like waves on a beach when he goes, and still getting most of the litter he tracks. More importantly, it's standing up well to his determined scratching and biting of the mat, unlike the last one he destroyed in a night

I have an earlier version of this mat, which is great. It is thick and it's is easy to pick up and drop the litter back into the box. This newer version is made from a thinner material. It came rolled up and absolutely will not flatten out. I have books on one edge to flatten it and it still won't, even after several weeks. I am very disappointed in what used to be a great product going down in quality. I'm still looking for a good one that doesn't cost me $20 , since I need at least 3.

I purchase four of these. One I tried to use, it remained curled no matter what I tried. It became more of a tripping hazard. I left it on a heated floor under a box, I ran it through the dishwasher, hoping the heat in both cases would help it lay flat. I would not recommend.

I like these mats, although they are quite expensive. I will return one of them (I ordered a bunch) because it has an issue (one side is bent). I tried a few things to resolve the issue (such as applying heavy books for one week) but nothing works, so...

Works well, curls a bit at edges

I like these mats and now have six of them for various areas in the house where I have litter boxes. They are economical compared the cost of other rubber or silicon mats, they work well to contain litter scatter, and they are flexible enough to not be too unwieldy when you try to pick them up to clean or move. I can easily roll it up to contain whatever is in it and shake out any litter back into the box or take it outside to spray down. I have one old dude who occasionally doesn't realize his hindquarters aren't actually inside the box so he pees or poops outside the edge, these mats work well to keep the mess from spreading over the floor. Some of my cats insist on scratching not only in the litter but also everywhere *around* the box every time they go, and these mats have held up well to claws with no holes or damage. The only issue I have noted is that the edges are thin and some of them curl up a fair bit so I just overlap them in front of the box area.

This mat is designed well to get litter off of the cats paws but it not nearly wide or long enough to do the job well. The mat is so small that all four paws don’t hit the mat. Would be great if it was much larger. You would need about four mats to do the job well.

Meow! Meow! I am so impressed with this product that I purchased the largest one after buying the smallest one. I use a small Dirt Devil to clean around his box and it sucks up all of the litter with ease. I had other types of mats but this is the BEST!

Great mat

The mat is a great invention. It collects litter in one spot. There is less litter on the floor around the litter box. It is eady to pick up and dispose of the litter
