About Comfort Zone Cat Calming Diffuser

Curb Stress in Your Cat

Just like people, cats behave differently when stressed. Comfort Zone products help relax your cat to curb stress-related, disruptive behavior so your cat can feel and behave her best.

24/7 Behavioral Support

Place one Comfort Zone Calming Diffuser in each of your cat’s favorite rooms for a happier, calmer cat.

Promotes Positive Behavior

The trusted, drug-free mist in the Comfort Zone Calming Diffuser helps reduce stress and promote positive behavior in your cat. Use it to help your cat adapt to life changes like a new baby, new pet, house guests, routine shifts and more.

How it Works

The Comfort Zone calming mist dispensed by the diffuser contains pheromones that mimic a cat’s natural feline facial pheromones (FFP). These are the same pheromones your cat would leave behind when head bunting you or rubbing her face on the furniture, and they signal to your cat that a place or object is safe and familiar. Using the diffuser can help make new objects or places feel more comfortable—just like one big kitty face rub spread across the entire room!

How to Use

Always use the diffuser properly and with the vents facing up. Leave four feet of space around the diffuser and avoid plugging it under shelves, behind furniture or near vents and windows for best results. Replace the refill approximately every 30 days or earlier if you notice it is empty.

Vet Recommended

Provides behavioral support for cats 10 months and older when used as directed.

Improved Behavior

The diffuser helps reduce stress and promote positive behaviors, with noticeable improvement in as little as two weeks.

Pheromone Technology

Comfort Zone makes a full line of pheromone products to help your cat feel better.

Promotes Relaxation

The calming mist signals a feeling a safety to your cat, lowering stress levels and promoting relaxation.

What's the difference between the regular formula and the multi cat formula? Is the multi cat formula stronger?

Answer by ChewyJun 21, 2020
The regular calming formula is better for pet owners calming a cat with spraying or scratching issues, while the multicat formula helps eliminate conflict and tension between cats.

where should we plug them in. does it matter if plugged in high or low outlets. is it ok to plug them in next to a register vent.

Answer by ChewyJul 03, 2021
Plug the diffuser into any standard household outlet, which are typically 15 or 20 amps. Be sure to keep the diffuser away from obstructions, like furniture, and away from open windows.

How many square feet does one diffuser cover? How many would I need to cover a 700sf apartment?

Answer by ChewyApr 09, 2022
Each diffuser covers 650 square feet.

All my household outlets are not up-right. I can only plug in side way. What should I do?

Answer by ChewyJun 09, 2022
If your outlet is horizontal, just turn the diffuser so that the refill reservoir is always at the lowest point.

I ordered this product to save money because I have used Feliway Optimum with success for my nervous cat. Upon minutes after plugging it in, there was a strong chemical, burning smell so I unplugged it. I had also plugged it into a different outlet upstairs and I could slightly smell the smell there as well and unplugged it. I decided to try it again the next day and plugged it in again in the original outlets as the day before using a different diffuser because I bought the multi pack. At first, there was no smell. Then about 10 minutes later, there was a strong chemical, burning smell, which made me nauseous. I moved the diffuser which was downstairs to a different location to see if maybe it was my outlet. However, I’ve had no previous issues with the outlet with another item that was plugged in there for about a year. Meanwhile, I went upstairs to check the other outlet, and there was that strong nauseating smell again, so I unplugged it from there as well. Luckily, Chewy gave me a refund and unfortunately, I will not be using these diffusers in the future. The smell came from all of the diffusers in various outlets in my home. This will be thrown away and I will never buy this product again.

It is hard to say if this is really working but I put them near areas where the cat had sprayed in the house and despite tons of cleaning the marking scent wasn't completely gone. Cat did spray one more time next to the plug in but things seem to have calmed down, now. It isn't hurting anything and as we know, when cats are peeing in the house we'll try anything to stop the behavior! Worth a try!

I have a very stressy cat and I had been purchasing only Feliway brand which works fine, but not very budget-friendly. I decided to try this brand which essentially gives me twice the product compared to Feliway, and my stressy-boy seems to park himself near any outlet that is close by. That tells me they are working, as he is noticeably more chill around them.

I don't think these work for my cats. I tried felliway, those burned way faster than one month and did nothing. Chewy recommended this brand. Better price and I got a black Friday deal so I figured it was a good time to try. Got 2 packs. I don't notice any difference with my 2 male cats. They tolerate each other most of the time but can't be together unsupervised as a playful fight turns aggressive often. Maybe these pheromone things just don't do anything for my cats.

Just like the title says, I think this worked for a majority of my cats, but not the one I specifically needed it for. We made a pretty big move and I plugged these in all over the new house and there was a noticeable difference in their combativeness. But I think with anything even with humans it really just depends on their make up and if this will help them or not.
