What’s the outside diameter of the medium size?

will this keep dogs from licking themselves in the rear end ?

Answer by ChewyAug 11, 2023
This collar can keep your pet from licking themselves in that area.

Does this attach to a regular collar, or does it work on its own without a collar?

Answer by ChewySep 19, 2024
This collar works on it's own. It features a tough, water-resistant polyfil core that is covered by a micro-plush cover for added comfort. There is also a leash attachment inside the zipper. This leash attachment can be wrapped around both collars using the silver rings.

Will this prevent reaching after spaying and removing back dewclaws?

Answer by ChewyJul 27, 2025
Although Comfurt Collar works for many issues, some pets may still be able to reach their wound. This depends on the individual pet, where the wound is, your pet’s flexibility, and if the collar is sized and fitted correctly. Monitor your pet to ensure they cannot reach the area they are not supposed to lick or bite.

This was purchased to replace the comfurt collar purchased post procedure ain 2021, it was just time as it fid double duty between Dozer and his late sister Nyx. This new version is slimmer and more square vs rounded in shape and design. It doesn’t prohibit his access to front legs as well as the old version. Velcro does seem to be better on this new collar. Still more convenient than the elizabethian colors that always broke on day 1.

My pug has eye surgery coming up and I needed a collar that would be soft, yet supportive and not easy for him to remove. He can flip a cone collar off in two seconds. The Comfurt Collar is very adjustable and has a built-in collar and is also adjustable with velcro. It's well-made and firm, but comfortable. I had to get a medium size due to my pug having a lot of rolls around his neck, and that was somewhat amusing when trying to choose a size. A Chewy representative helped me with that. My pug is not able to get the collar over his head when I've adjusted it properly and it will provide protection and support for after his surgery.

Nice change from inflatible cones

My corgi has been in a no lick cone for a few months. He won't leave a sore on his foot alone and it's been a battle with him living in a cone and me feeling guilty

My corgi has been in a no lick cone for a few months. He won't leave a sore on his foot alone and it's been a battle with him living in a cone and me feeling guilty about it. The inflatible cones may be lighter and a bit more comfortable but they tend to not hold air as well after a while and if they fail at night, you begin the entire healing process over again. This cone was perfect size for a short legged dog. He could move in it without running into things on the ground; a hazard of putting a cone on a short leg dog. My only caution is that after a while he learned, at night, he could actually push down on the edge of the memory foam cone an lick his leg. I ordered a size up to prevent that but that is too large and bulky for him so It's for emergency use only. Normal dogs, with long legs would probably do just fine in this.

I don't care for the rough mesh on the inner edge of the collar but a folded tissue seems to provide adequate padding. After a short time, my cat has tolerated it far better than a cone. He can still eat and drink with relative ease.

Only type of "cone" he tolerates

The traditional cones cause my Simba to panic. This one has been a lifesaver. Had a lump removed today so will need to wear it for approx 2weeks.

Ease of putting on.

Rugged, durable. My cat failed to take it off and bury it in his cat litter like he did the others I tried.

Fit

I thought it would be too small but when I got all the clips done and the cushion around her neck it fit perfectly. She didn't fight it at all. Great product!

We have a 15 year old Chinese Crested/Yorkie mix. He has Addison's, & is always chewing himself, or digging in his ears. We had him in a traditional plastic cone to keep him from the damage he was doing to himself, but it was not comfortable for daily use. The Comfurt Collar is much better. It's lightweight, and easy to clean. He seems happier using this instead of a traditional plastic cone.

Great Post Op Recovery Collar!

Our lab recently had CCL surgery and this collar kept him away from his incision line. Unlike the plastic e-collar he eventually tolerated having the comfort collar

Our lab recently had CCL surgery and this collar kept him away from his incision line. Unlike the plastic e-collar he eventually tolerated having the comfort collar on 24/7. Initially he attempted (and was successful) at removing it. We placed the collar on him briefly prior to surgery and adjusted the collar tightness accordingly to ensure a snug but not tight fit. I can't stress enough the importance of following the size guidelines. Measure twice then measure again. The collar needs to extend past the tip of the nose to be effective. It has prevented our lab from accessing the incision line on his back leg. It also provides neck and head comfort/support, is easy for him to maneuver in and out of the crate and does not affect his peripheral vision. We removed the collar for bathroom breaks only. If you are looking for an alternative to the e-collar, I highly recommend this comfurt collar!
