This has to be the best post-surgery recovery collar. My 70 pound, long-bodied dog cannot reach to lick his back end. The collar has stiff plastic see-through sections that help my dog see to maneuver around. It’s comfortable around his neck because it attaches to his collar. Velcro holds it in place and can be adjusted down one section. The best thing? He can eat and drink from his bowls, pick up his toys, & chew on his bones. He can only reach the tip of his front paws. He can reach his back paws, though. This collar is stiff enough to hold its shape but not so stiff to hurt when he accidentally hits something. I found another collar similar to this one for $70. Great price for this awesome collar. Highly recommend.
Lilly is not too sure why she’s wearing it but she’s taken to the cone well. Now, we’re just waiting for her skin wound to heal. Great buy!!
It get's the job done, but it's incredibly flimsy and obstructs eye sight. I felt really bad having it on my elderly dog because it would just droop over her face. It's more comfortable that a traditional cone, but took more wear and tear from chewing.
It works pretty well and doesn't get in the way when they're walking around everywhere
I ordered a large and it, had a large sticker but it didn't fit. I couldn't even close it without it choking him.
I bought this for my long haired German Shepard after growth removed from his head. I had to get the extra large and fits well. It is soft so if he does run into anything it bends but it keeps him from scratching his head. It is no where near the size of those plastic cones, so he can get around easily, eat and drink with it on. It is so worth the money.
Did not last long, started out ok then the velcro was unthreading on its own and within a week the plastic piece’s started to crack. Would not recommend, don’t waste your money.
So far so good. Obviously needed a replacement for the plastic one that came from the vet. I like that she seems to be able to reach food and water with this. She doesn't seem to know that she can possibly reach to scratch her face or her hot spot which are the reasons that she's wearing it. We will have to wait and see if it is because it is effective or if it is just learned helplessness from the other coller. Using it With her own collar through the rungs. I also bought the large but I can't see a huge difference in size so based on her measurements we are using the medium until I can see if it is too small to be effective.
The cone did little to stop picking at the surgery area.
My outside dog is keeping this on & it is holding up to his semi-active lifestyle. It held up in the washing machine as well. It doesn't leave marks on his neck like the harder plastic cones.
