    Cats eat this

    By on

I was looking for a grain free food to supplement my current cat food. My cats do eat this. What can I say that is half the battle getting cat approval.

    Not Appealing

    By on

First, I'm aware that foods free of additives that make it look pretty are not going to look appetizing. This goes beyond that. The consistency is clayish. Odd. I don't detect a scent. That is peculiar since cats appetites are triggered by their sense of smell. Based on the ingredients I was hopeful that my cat "Max" would take to this one. 95% Premium Meat and Grain Free is a catchy marketing promise to support a special needs cat diet. I placed the food in his bowl, he walked up to it with his usual gusto (you've heard of people that could sing the phonebook... well, I neglected to tell that Max could eat a phonebook. He's not so discriminating)... and promptly stopped in his tracks, slowly First, I'm aware that foods free of additives that make it look pretty are not going to look appetizing. I mixed the food with his tried and true. He ate it. I tried the same method the next meal. No go. I tried mixing the blend of that with water. Nope. 4 meals in, it's a positive "NO" for this one. Dave’s is a fave

    By on

So, my cat is digging the Dave’s 95% grain free beef. She’s pretty much a beef or exotic meat eater - doesn’t do the fowl or fish thing. She used to eat the Whole Earth but they seem to be going out of business or something because their product is, literally, nowhere to be found anymore and after struggling for 2 months I’ve given up and started looking for an alternative. My research led me to Dave’s. Now, I admit, I was a bit skeptical. It’s not very expensive and I’m a graduate of the “you get what you pay for” school so this just seemed too good to be true. Remarkably, it appears to be one of the last - if not THE last foods that isn’t filled with crap (fillers) or all the latest So, my cat is digging the Dave’s 95% grain free beef. Remarkably, it appears to be one of the last - if not THE last foods that isn’t filled with crap (fillers) or all the latest NEW crap like peas, or cranberries, or lentils, (???), etc. that the health foodies are trying to foist onto our obligate carnivors in an attempt to “vegetarianate” them. And, as I said, surprisingly, it’s reasonably priced. I decided to give it a try. It’s crazy, but my cat seems to like it. A lot. Hmm. I think Dave’s onto something here. I just hope it doesn’t go to his head and he raises the price like all the others. Or, we find out the beef is from somewhere awful or it’s not really Beef at all but ...... … more

    Sadly, It's A No.

    By on

I thought the ingredients for this were super: no grain, plus no peas and no fish so perfect for my cats needs but my Carter - who always eats everything - literally walks away from his bowl if I put this out. I'm totally bummed but I guess I'll be dropping this off at the local shelter...

High in meat, low in carbs..pretty palatable if a little dry

    By on

I like the low carb formula and the phos/calcium levels in this. cats like it pretty well...It is very greyish in color and very thick. It could be finer ground and wetter to be more palatable to cats and less would be stuck to the plate after they finish eating.

    My cat loves this food

    By on

I have a cat with food allergies - no chicken, turkey or grains - this food is her new favorite. And, it is well priced. I don't know if this is a new product but I have not seen it before. Happy I found it.

    Kitty Love

    By on

My cats are not finicky eaters, but they really love this canned food. I like the list of ingredients and it's a great deal at this price. I feel good about feeding my kitties it.

    Cats won't eat it

    By on

I've been trying out various Dave's cat food and this one they won't eat. Admittedly picky eaters, they do like the Restricted Diet one and tolerate the Cat's Meowv:Beef with Lamb. The brand seems high quality and reasonably priced, but there's no predicting what my two cats will eat.

    None of them ate it

    By on

I tried this a few meal with my cat and no luck. I then gave it to my two feral cats that I have had since birth. Neither of them ate it either. Not sure why they won't eat it but finally a raccoon and family enjoyed it.
