Recommended daily feeding amounts for adult cars with normal activity using a standard 8 oz/250 ml measuring cup which contains approximately 87g of Purina ONE.
Fill your cat's bowl with the recommended measured amount every morning and allow your cat to eat on a "free choice" basis throughout the day, rather than as a single feeding at mealtime. Food intake required to maintain an ideal body condition will vary, depending on age, activity and environment. Monitor your cat's weight and adjust food amount accordingly.
Although you'll be anxious to see the difference Purina ONE can make in your cat, please allow 7 - 10 days to ease the transition from your cat's current food. Each day, simply feed a little less of the previous food and a little more Purina ONE until you're feeding Purina ONE exclusively. This gradual transition will help avoid dietary upsets.

I have used this product for years and years. Never once had a problem (at one point 5 cats in the household, now down to 2). Cats are always happy. For the last 6 months to year, I had switched my two cats to Purina One Weight Management because I have a hefty 23lb cat that needs to lose some weight. He gained weight on that one, so I switched them back to the Purina One Indoor Advantage and figured I would portion control the food instead of free feeding. I mixed the two together to slowly introduce what I used in the past. This week, we are fully on the Indoor Advantage, and I have piles and piles of vomit. I have TWO 22lb bags of this stuff, and now I'm scrambling to find something else. I had looked to see if there was a recall, and that's when I saw the reviews stating that the formula must have changed. Well, it's not a good change unless you like cleaning up vomit all day. The cats have also been raiding my dogs food because they don't want to eat this. Very disappointing and I wish manufacturers were required to announce product changes to warn consumers so they can make an informed decision on whether or not they want to proceed with purchase.
TL;DR: If your cats are throwing up out of the blue, a formula change may be to blame. My cats used to love this stuff! Last week, however, we opened the new bag of this that we got in October. Got home from work to find A LOT of vomit around the house. Like a lot. Some of the fresher vomit was reddish-pinkish. We took him to the urgent care to make sure he didn’t eat something he shouldn’t have. X-ray normal, blood results normal. They gave him something for nausea and told us not to let him eat for 12 hours. 12 hours go by, no puke. I set out some of this stuff, he eats a few kibbles, and not even 10 minutes later he threw up again, just once this time though. Notably, at this point, our other cat won’t eat. He’s clearly hungry based on his behavior, and hadn’t eaten since the night before right before we took his brother to the vet. He’d inspect the kibbles, pick one up and immediately spit it out. This got me thinking, and came here to check the reviews in case anyone else had noticed anything funky. I want to give a huge thanks to the people who commented about formula changes, especially the one who mentioned their cats vomited because of it!! We gave both cats wet food, they ate it immediately, and neither has vomited since. Looks the formula change really did a number on my poor boy, so we’ll definitely be changing to a different brand.
My 3 cats have been eating this food for at least 4 years and have always loved it and can’t get enough. I got a new bag and two wouldn’t touch it, the third threw it up, and none have touched it since. Chewy customer support was great as always, but as other reviews have mentioned something is off with this food.
My 4 cats used to love this food. I recently got a bag, and the Color of the kibble has changed. They must have changed something in the ingredients. Now none of my cats will eat it. They just sniff it and walk away. I now have switched to a different food that they will eat.
I noticed when I opened my newest bag received last week that the colors of the kibble were lighter and I saw other comment about this. I emailed the manufacturer and they said they have actually changed the caramel color in their recipe to a vegetable juice, hence the lighter color. I have been using this food for about 6 months now, and my cats were on Purina kitten kibble before this. They like this food a lot, and right now I will continue to buy it. I would like to look for some affordable lower grain options in the future, but in the meantime they really like this.
When I got my baby boy from the rescue, the food he was on was a bit over my budget. Looked for an alternative & tried Purina One. We switched and have never tried another brand. He has his 3 go to flavors we alternate between & gets excited each time he gets a new bag. Helps keep him full, healthy and happy. I highly recommend!
Unfortunately 2 of the 4 cats had explosive diarrhea after eating. I will need to dispose. I cant even donate as I wanted, as I am afraid it will do same to others.
My cats used to love this food. Recently bought a new bag and the color was off but someone said they changed the ingredients. Well both cats started vomiting after 2 weeks of eating it. I actually thought there might have been a recall. Don’t recommend and will not buy again.
My cats have a very versatile palette. Since they've been itty bitty kitties, I've tried to give them a very diverse meal plan. We started using Purina One for dry and honestly they will not accept any other dry foods. I highly recommend it.
I’m trying to find a new dry food now that my kitten is a year old. She really liked the Purina one intended for kittens. I’m trying to find one intended for cats over a year old. She didn’t like this one. Wish I had been able to purchase samples. It’s a good food. It may be good for others. Just not mine.
