Noticed all of my cats scratching themselves more while using this food, and had one that we took to the vet because she was scraping her face open. Stopped feeding Iams and all of the symptoms went away. We ended up having to throw away an almost full bag because we bought 2 bags. They've always at chicken dry food so it shouldn't have been an issue with type of protein. Switched back to Purina One.
My older cat, who is 3, has always had a sensitive stomach. It took me 6 months to find a wet food he could eat without being sick, and wouldn't even touch dry food until I got my second cat. Even then, I struggled to find a dry food that he wouldn't vomit, and I kept finding hairballs when I came home from work, sometimes almost every day. I started them on this, and I've seen far less hairballs from him, AND he's stopped vomiting. The price is a little high for me, but I make it work just to make sure my babies are happy and healthy.
My 2 cats are indoor cats (per my promise when adopted), and they love the food. Panda is a big boy (16-18 lbs) isn't picky and eats a lot, so the fillers in the food helps out with his weight control. Tiger is smaller but has issues with eating on a schedule. He has to have food accessible when needed so he doesn't eat too much too fast and throw up. This cat food helps with his weight, also. So this cat food fulfills my cat's dietary needs pretty well. I purchase when on sale though, since the price increases by a lot over the past couple years which is disappointing.
I spent $800 on a vet bill, worried that my cat had an obstruction, kidney failure, etc. after vomiting food for 3 days. We put her on a vet recommended diet after finding out nothing was wrong, thinking that maybe she had a stomach bug, and the vomiting stopped. We put her back on the dry food after a week, and she instantly vomited again. I've used Iams food before - specifically this type and something HAS to be wrong with the package or batch we received. I hope no one else has this issue but please be careful out there!!
My cats like all of the Iams flavors but I do notice that my "thrower-up" cat throws up less on the pink bag digestive flavor. I have 5 cats and Pumpkin is the one who throws up the most. My deduction is that he hogs his food down as opposed to the other 4 cats who eat slower. So my thoughts on cats throwing up is that each cat has a different digestive tract but they all need to eat slower---just like humans!!!
So I purchased 2 bags of this cat food. Bad move. I’m stuck with unused cat food. Our cats refused to eat it. Not even the stray cats outside our house. They could be really hungry and still refuse to eat it. I’m not sure what is it because I researched it before the purchase and it has all the good ingredients. Something is not there though.
Chewy always seems to have what I need. I had lost 2 kitties to hyperthyroidism. When another cat got sick I had her treated with the radioactive iodine therapy and she got well. I thought it might be the cheap food I was giving them. When I switched everybody over to Iams, I have not have another occurrence of hypothyroidism. I'm very grateful!
My cat is most content with this brand. She tends to be picky when it comes to what she wants to nibble on. It keeps her satisfied when feeding time comes around. She doesn't ask for more when she helps herself to the food bowl, but the perfectly sized portions she does eat, leaves her content all day. She's a healthy weight and a happy cat with IAMS Indoor.
I'm picky what my cats eat, but the price of the foid they normally eat was just getting to expensive. Also, i needed to get a handle of my 4 yr old males weight. I was leary as I've tried Iams before and my cats wouldn't eat it. I was delighted with the price and my my cats seem to love it. I'm very pleased with this food for them and appreciate the value
I ordered one bag of Iams ProActive Health indoor weight & hairball care Dry Cat Food and received 2 bags! I have 2 little cats, it would take them forever to eat it all! Plus I don't have room to store all those bags. Help
