Even though it's supposed to be exactly the same product the life source bits seem to be limited and the first night he puked up everything & he's never thrown up before! Hopefully he'll eat it cuz I have 3 bag's,he doesn't like the wilderness at all!
So my cat has not been eating very much and for a short while 6 months ago, he was eating Tasefuls Wet Chicken Pate, so I figured maybe he'd like the Tastefuls Dry. Unfortunately he does not. And just recently after a Blood Test received a result of Kidney Disease. So now I will have to try Prescription Foods. So my review I guess is pointless because my cat is sick. So I can't give an honest review of this product because maybe if he were not ill he might love it.
I love Blue Buffalo products. So far my cat seems to like it well enough. I like the wilderness line better, but this is a nice change up, and less expensive. My guess by reading the ingredients that it isn't as good of quality as the wilderness line, but it is still good, and i alternate with wilderness and give her variety as often as i can. She likes their wet food as well.
My cat likes the food so I decided to buy the 10 pound bag as it is cheaper by weight. I just opened it to find there is NO way to reseal it like the smaller bag.
We have four cats who were all littermates and are 8 years old now. We recently bought this food as a switch from Purina. Omg ALL FOUR loved, loved, loved this food immediately! Unfortunately it caused one of them to immediately become constipated. Within days we'd find a chunk of fecal matter on the bathmats over night. I immediately knew something was very wrong as all four cats always use the litter box. After about a long week later I saw "Cowboy" squat and strain in the litter box with no bm. This poor boy had been constipated for about two weeks! I spent a sleepless night and took him to his Dr the next morning who gave Cowboy an enema and an RX liquid stool softener and advised to give him 1 tsp Miralax 2X a day. The enema was ineffective, gosh I was crazy with worry until he finally got relief a whole day later. Thank gosh it did not affect our other three kitdos. I believe this product caused hypercalcemia in which it can cause constipation. Ya no kidding. We put a nanny cam on their litter box so we can monitor their poopers as I felt so bad for our boy.
Bought this bag as an insurance marker in case weather didn't permit delivery. Checked with my fur baby (taste test) and she's looking for more, haha. Blue Buffalo is our brand. They have a variety of flavors for interest.
It's too soon for the review. Boots has tried it but is still throwing up. I need to give him some time to adjust.
I have been feeding my various cats a version of this food consistently for over well over a decade. This exact flavor & most recent bag, has me concerned. The sizes of the morsels are formed completely inconsistently. The kibble is usually about the same size as the “life source bits” but in this bag, half of the regular bits are double the size in length, as if the machine made a mistake. This isn’t about a larger overall round kibble shape, they’re longer, which may make them harder to chew & swallow. I wrote to Blue Buffalo. Hopefully it is just a one off.
My cat has been eating Blue Buffalo Adult Indoor dry cat food for his 10 years of life. When I tried to reorder it now, I found it no longer exists. Panicked, I had to call Blue Buffalo to find out why, and was told it's under a new name. Fortunately, my cat still likes it, but there should have been better communication by the manufacturer that the name changed but the ingredients remained the same.
My Salem loves this food! His coat has also gotten shinier. It's pricey, but well worth it; and I feel good giving him quality food.
