How do you apply it?

Answer by ChewyApr 07, 2019
Spread the animal’s fur at the base of the neck, in between the shoulder blades. Apply 1 pipette to the skin every week for an initial care of 2 consecutive months followed by regular and continuous use of 1 pipette every 2 weeks as long as necessary. For small mammals (rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs, hamsters, rats, mice...), apply from few drops to 1 pipette according to animal size. Do not bathe the animal 2 days before/after the application.

Can this be used with flea spot on treatments? I figured I could stagger the treatments weeks apart...?

Answer by ChewyDec 03, 2019
We urge you to speak with your vet whenever starting a new or mixing two treatments.

Is this product FDA Approved? Any side effects associated with this product?

Answer by ChewyDec 16, 2022
Dermoscent products have the status of dermo-cosmetics and do not need FDA approval before they go on the market. Concerning Essential 6 spot-on, as for any active product, rare cases of intolerance can occur. It is due to a particular sensitivity of the animal to one or several ingredients of the product. These reactions are unpredictable and extremely rare. The manufacturer's scientific department carefully monitors each intolerance reaction for each Dermoscent product and the rate of intolerance for Essential 6 spot-on is as low as 0.007% since its launch, meaning that the product is safe in 99.993% of cases.

my dog has allergies and dogs himself raw and chews him self too. shaking his head too. Will this help?

Answer by ChewyApr 03, 2021
Essential 6 spot-on provides a simple and efficient solution for cutaneous imbalances (also referred to as kerato-seborrhoeic disorders or problems) and their consequences: dull or brittle hair, dry or oily coat, bad odors, etc. Due to your pet's condition, we recommend consulting with your veterinarian to determine suitable treatment.

We are only on week two of using essential six spot on, but I have already began to see a difference in my dogs skin. It is not as dry and flaky, nor is she scratching as often as she was before starting this. The fragrance is pleasant and not overwhelming at all. So far, I am quite happy with the results of this product.

Vet recommended and it works!

My little Zoey is an East Coast girl and moving west caused dry skin. Once a month, after an oatmeal bath, we put this on and she’s not itchy for weeks. Really

Watch out for the scent

Unfortunately the scent of the oil was so strong that it caused my poor dog to sneeze. I was hoping the product was unscented.

It works but Poppy does not like the smell

My miniature Dachshund is blue/tan piebald and true to the statistics of a blue Dachshund she has alopecia. Just through her back and sides, not the legs, face chest or tail but the places where there is hair loss, her skin gets very dry. I treat her with this once weekly in addition to weekly baths per her veterinary dermatologist instructions. Poppy does not like the smell when I first put it on. It is not a bad order it is like an evergreen scent but I suspect too strong of a smell for her liking. Eventually the smell dissipates and she forgets about it but it does work and keeps her dry skin healthy.

Our vet suggested this for my senior boy last year for his super dry skin and it worked like a charm! It is a little pricy, but I thought it was worth it since my old man both hated water and was not in good enough health for frequent bathing.
