My 11 year old golden retriever has dry itchy skin and he likes his paws. I need something that I can rub all other his body. Could I rub this into his skin, through his fur? Would it make him look greasy?

Answer by ChewyJan 25, 2019
While the topical balm is rapidly absorbed to provide your dog with relief against skin damage, it's recommended to use this on cracked noses, paw pads, calloused pressure points and hot spots. It's not intended to be used on the dog's entire body.

Is the safe for a dog that will chew their paws due to allergies? And does this product work for allergies?

Answer by ChewyDec 15, 2018
This balm is made with non-toxic materials that are safe, even if it is licked. This is not made to help with allergies, it is formulated to moisturize dry skin.

What are the ingredients?

Answer by ChewyMay 01, 2018
The ingredients are Soybean Oil, and Essential Oil of Cajputi.

Can you use this on a 4 month old puppy for dry/rough paw pads?

Answer by ChewyAug 22, 2022
In the absence of data on animals aged 3 months or less and if your puppy/kitten does not show any particular problems, the manufacturer recommends that you wait until 6 months of age before administering the dermo-cosmetic care with natural active ingredients.

This is great. A little pricey, but it works. Indy had redness in between her paws and was starting to limp. The cold weather and stuff in the grass, salt on the sidewalks, was irritating her. My sister had some of this for her dog and I used some on Indy. It worked overnight! I bought one for us the next day. Highly recommend!!

Vet recommended. Quality.

Very effective for treating a mild bacterial infection on her nose. Big improvement with only 3 applications. Safe for her picking it.

Recommended by my dog's dermatologist

The most effective treatment I've found for damaged or cut pads. Expensive but gets good results. Highly recommend.

Too expensive

I can buy a skin balm at the store for $5 and get 3 times as much. I won’t be buying it again from Chewy

This has worked wonders in just a week. I only need apply once a day and it absorbs quickly! I love the smell, she does not, it is a little strong and of course is going directly on her nose. I learned that if I prep her dinner and apply right before giving her her food, she doesn't pay attention to it and try to lick it off, and most of it is absorbed before she is done eating!

Keeps Nose Moist

This ointment works great when your dog has dried skin or a dry nose. I’ve used it for years.

Got it for my dachshund ears, he is 15 and his ears were starting to get very dry from the half down to the tip of them. Ointment seemed to be working and I was very happy with the results, but after some days of use my dog ears started to feel very hot, red and with tiny bumps, hives.
