how long should I give my cat kitten food? like whst age? when should I start the indoor cat food
Answer by ChewyFeb 18, 2021
Kittens should switch to an adult cat food at 12 months old to ensure they are receiving the proper nutrient levels for adult cats. Even the most athletic adult pets will gain weight if fed kitten food.

Answer by ChewyAug 03, 2020
The feeding guidelines are based on daily recommendations and should be divided up between feeding times. Optimal feeding amounts may vary according to your pet's temperament, activity level and environment. If you have any questions regarding your pet's health, please contact your veterinarian.

What are the calcium and phosphorus levels of this food? And what exactly is the ingredient "Natural Flavor"? Thanks!
Answer by ChewyJan 04, 2022
The Calcium amount is 2.1% The Phosphorus amount is 1.5%. Natural ingredient that is applied to the outside of the kibble to enhance the flavor and acceptance of the dry pet food. Can be from vegetable or chicken sources. (It does not contain MSG.) Examples are parsley or other herbs and hydrolyzed proteins (processed so the average molecular weight of the protein is too small to be detected by the immune system which helps avoid adverse reactions in allergic pets. There is no intact protein from the chicken.)

diarrhea for kittens

I’ve tried this food twice now for three different kittens and no matter how I transition, they all had loose stools until I stopped offering this food. I tried giving probiotics and eliminated the possibility of parasites etc. Diarrhea resolved itself within two days of switching from this food.

Was recommended by a local Kitten rescue

I contacted a local Kitten rescue to ask what they use and this is what they recommommended and use for their fosters. I like this food. Pieces are small and the kittens seem to enjoy it and more importantly, they can digest it.

Diamond Naturals Kitten Formula Dry Cat Food

I was told a long time ago that the Diamond brand of food was done by the brother of the IAMS food for pets. Same good quality but less expensive for those of us whose pocketbooks can use a break! Can't confirm or deny the veracity of this statement. But I can say that I used the Diamond brand dog food for YEARS when we had dogs. They were extremely healthy and had the softest coats. So was pleased to see they had a kitten formula for the 5 hungry kitties and their teenage mother to enjoy!

Why raise price

Upset they keep raising the price!! That just isn’t fair for the customers who purchase this because it use to be much cheaper! Honestly this is how you lose faithful customers

Diamond Naturals Kitten Dry Food

My kittens nor the mama cat will eat this food. I am not sure why other than the morsels of food are very tiny so for the mother they are probably not easy to pick up. If she doesn't show the kittens to eat it, they won't. I am disappointed as this was a waste of money and we don't have it to waste.

5 month old kitten loves it!

This seems to be a healthy kitten food. I was previously feeding him Pro Plan kitten food but wanted a change. I liked the ingredients in this Diamond Naturals for kittens so I ordered 2 bags. So far he eats everything we've given him so I figured it was safe. I wasn't wrong! It has been about 3 weeks and he loves this food. I fill up a feeder for him since he's a growing 5 month old kitten, and I had to refill it more often after we switched to Diamond lol. He did have a growth spurt as well but so far so good. I had a cup of his old food left and did a gradual change over a few days, not very long but it was fine, didn't bother his stomach. Will definitely buy again.

use with caution

Diamond Naturals is the food the pet shelter was feeding the 2 kittens I adopted. They appeared to be doing well on it, however 2 of 3 cats at home got hold of some when I wasn't looking... went crazy over it, and we had digestive issues with them for a week. Their bm's were really loose to the point of being liquid and bloody at times. They were vomiting and lost their appetite. Don't know what it is about this food that attracted them so strongly.
