When transitioning your pet to a new food, we recommend a gradual introduction of the new formula over a 7 day period. For pets with sensitivities, extend the transition period to 10 to 14 days. Start by adding a small amount of your pet’s new food to his or her current food. Gradually, increase the new food amount and decrease the current food amount at each feeding until you are feeding only the new food.

Decent food for price point.

After years of eating PPP sensitive skin & stomach (because poultry protein sensitivity), it suddenly wasn't working anymore for several reasons I wont get into

After years of eating PPP sensitive skin & stomach (because poultry protein sensitivity), it suddenly wasn't working anymore for several reasons I wont get into here. After no luck finding another WSAVA compliant dog food without chicken meal/by products, I reluctantly decided to find something else and landed on this food after a LOT of research and ingredient lists. My dogs were developing some GI issues on PPP and this has completely fixed the problem. I supplement a little extra protein because 23% is a bit low for a 7 and 13 year old though, which is really my only complaint about this food. The ingredients seem pretty good, with a good amount of fiber. Both of my dogs enjoy this food and definitely prefer it over the old one. Adding an extra source of protein from whole lamb meat (in addition to the lamb meal) could make this be a very excellent AAFCO dog food. Very good for the price point regardless.

Different this time

Our dog has been on this food for almost two years. He has always loved it (the cats used to sneak pieces too). However something has changed. This last bag smells

Our dog has been on this food for almost two years. He has always loved it (the cats used to sneak pieces too). However something has changed. This last bag smells terrible and even left a terrible odor in the bowls that is hard to wash out. Our dog wouldn't finish his bowl of food. We like Diamond brand and have never had an issue until now. The cat didn't even steal any from this bag. This is the last bag of this variety we will buy. We are now trying a chicken and rice formula from Diamond and our dog loves it. Idk if it was a bad bag or batch of the lamb and rice or if they changed the recipe but it was definitely different than the past two years. Can't recommend it now.

Great dog Food

The breeder that I got my female Standard Poodle from was using this food as part of her breeding program and I obviously transitioned WillowPillow to this food

The breeder that I got my female Standard Poodle from was using this food as part of her breeding program and I obviously transitioned WillowPillow to this food when I bought her home. I mix this food with wet Hills Science Diet Digestive Care ID Low-fat Rice Vegetable and Chicken Stew as well as a powdered multivitamin supplement and Purina FortiFlora Pro. Willow Pillow does extremely well on this food and nutrient supplement combination. I highly recommend this dry kibble above other brands and will continue to use it as long as WillowPillow continues to do well on it.

My dog has been eating Diamond Lamb for almost a full year now - used to be the puppy kind until May. She gets some severe flakiness on her back from allergies, and suspected to have a chicken allergy. When we switched to this food (after trying several bc she's so picky), I was just happy that we found something she would actually eat and didn't even realize this formula has chicken fat as an ingredient. Wasn't until her dry skin wouldn't calm down after cutting out all chicken treats that I looked more in depth at this ingredient list. Beware if you have a sensitive skinned doggo! We'll be transitioning her to a new food with only lamb.

This is a good brand overall for pups with sensitive tummies since they offer limited ingredient formulas. My dogs used to eat the puppy version of this and now have this adult version and they are doing just a well. They have wheat, poultry and beef/pork allergies and this food is the best food for them. They went from loose poops to normal firm ones. They love the taste too always excited for meals. I highly recommend.

Who ever delivered the dog food did not deliver the food to my address but delivered it a half of a block away my neighbor recognized my address and I had to go

Chewy rep told me it was a Senior formula. Gave me wrong description

Donated as I wanted senior Lamb Formula and not available. I use the Diamond Senior formula with chicken, oatmeal and other ingredients for both Sadie and Biscuit

Donated as I wanted senior Lamb Formula and not available. I use the Diamond Senior formula with chicken, oatmeal and other ingredients for both Sadie and Biscuit. However the last 2 shipments of the 36 lb bag has arrived open with food in the bottom of the box. I reported 1 but not the last one. The packaging needs to be more sturdy or your warehouse workers need to not “ sling” it when shipping. opens at top 2 corners of bag.
