I need a straightforward answer to my question. Will the door close even after I install and lock the latch? My worry is that the door will close while my cat is inside with. The main thing is does this stop the door from closing as well as keeping it open a certain amount?

Answer by ChewyDec 21, 2018
The Door Buddy features an adjustable strap to help keep door opening to fit your needs. However, if the door is push in with enough force the door will close.

Will this work on pocket door?

Answer by ChewyAug 01, 2018
Door Buddy works with standard and non-standard doors and doors with all handle types. It works great on pocket doors, double doors, and even bi-fold doors.

I have small dogs, will it keep them out or will they be able to get in if the cats can get in?

Answer by ChewyOct 22, 2018
It depends on the size of your dog in relation to your cat. If your dog is smaller than your cat (measured primarily by head size) then Door Buddy may not work very well because your small dog will be able to fit through in addition to your cat.

Could this be used with a Regalo walk-through gate? I want the “walk through” to open enough to let my cats through but not my 50lb dog. The gate is in a doorway but there’s no door.

Works great and super easy to apply

I use this before, it worked great to keep the dog out of the cat room. I couldn't get it off the door frame when we moved, so I just bought a new one.

We have only ever had dogs so when my kid brought home a kitten from college I didn’t know how I was going to keep the dogs from eating the kitten food and kitty “crunchies”. Came across this in a search of “how dogs and cats live together”. It’s been great. Super easy to use and does the job.

No more dog snacks.

Coty can’t raid Dusty’s litter box or eat her food. She has her own space to escape her buddy if she wants.

All 4 of our dogs love eating cat poop. We moved our litter box to the bathroom and installed the Door Buddy. When our cat Goobs goes into the bathroom and leaves the ultimate dog treat (poop), they peak their heads in and look so sad that they have absolutely no access. 10/10 would recommend. Planning on getting one for the bedroom for when we’re out of the house Goobs can have a sanctuary

Controlled access

We needed something that would allow our cats to go down to the cellar but keep our toddler grandson out. This is what our daughter uses, and she recommended it

We needed something that would allow our cats to go down to the cellar but keep our toddler grandson out. This is what our daughter uses, and she recommended it because it requires to drilling or nailing and is adjustable.

This worked amazingly for months! I like it a lot better than some other ones that are out there and the latch being fabric makes it so nice! You don’t run into

This worked amazingly for months! I like it a lot better than some other ones that are out there and the latch being fabric makes it so nice! You don’t run into any pieces sticking out and it’s very convenient when it’s time to close the door fully. We don’t need it anymore because our dog outgrew her cat litter eating phase, but it was so great to have!!

Easy to Install

Super helpful to keep my bedroom door just slightly cracked allowing my clingy cat to roam in and out through the night. Having it closed leads to a sleepless night

Super helpful to keep my bedroom door just slightly cracked allowing my clingy cat to roam in and out through the night. Having it closed leads to a sleepless night and a wide open door isn’t my preference either. Super, super easy to install and use daily whether inside or outside of the door. My only worry is the stickiness may peel the paint. If I ever take it off, I’ll try to update the review!
