Our Preferred Tortoise Substrate

We've tried many different substrates in our indoor enclosures and although we also use ReptiChip, I like this better. Although our tortoises haven't complained,

We've tried many different substrates in our indoor enclosures and although we also use ReptiChip, I like this better. Although our tortoises haven't complained, I believe that it's easier for them to walk on than a couple of inches of chunky, loose chips. We end up using a mix of the two, but if Forest Floor is afforable, it's my first choice and do not recommend the expandable, compressed coir blocks as the brown dust from them is uncontrollable and goes everywhere.
