The Litter Cats Love

Dr. Elsey’s believes litter can be loved—by cats and their owners. They’re on a mission to help keep cats in loving homes by providing proven, veterinarian-formulated solutions.

They Speak for Cats

Dr. Elsey’s puts heart, soul, and science into every product to solve the complex needs of pets. Every problem calls for a solution, whether it’s bringing a fussy cat back to the box, keeping paws free of dust, or fueling pets’ ancestral dietary needs.

Bring Your Cat Back to the Box

A problem cat is one who chooses not to use the litter box. There are three likely causes: medical ailments, territorial marking, or behavioral issues. Cat Attract helps fight litter box aversion and bring cats back with a natural herb blend.

About Dr. Elsey’s

Dr. Elsey’s is a veterinarian-owned brand dedicated to meeting the complex needs of cats. Founded in 1987 with the first all-natural clumping cat litter, their line has since grown to include a variety of products for cats at every stage of life.

I don't know how they're defining "low dust" but this is NOT low dust, even compared to clay litter, honestly, COMPARED TO ANY LITTER this is AWFUL. I used to use this for our asthmatic cat, but it was the wrong choice (we eventually switched). The non clumping is... nice in some ways, but the crystals turn yellow from urine (to help indicate it's dirtiness) but there's no way to sift that from the "good" litter, so you should probably change this every week or so, which is pretty frequently for the price. Also, STOP PUTTING FLIERS IN THE BAG, that is the most annoying thing I have ever seen in a product. It's cute in cereal boxes, in litter... I don't want to have to reach into the box (however clean it is), to pull out your stupid garbage. Also, THE TRACKING IS AWFUL. We have huge cloth mats that reach almost 2 feet from the litter boxes and the laundry room they're in STILL had so much of the crystals all over (after 2 days normally), requiring regular sweeping. Not too mention we'd often find the crystals around the house and in the bed (which is a floor up from the laundry room we keep the litters in). I've since swapped to natural pine pellet litter and it is HANDS DOWN so much better (and cheaper). Less tracking, they smell nicer. EVEN dust-wise, you'd think wood pellets would have more dust than this which claims to be low dust but nope, if these are low-dust then the new pine litter I'm using is dust-free by comparison. Low dust compared to a dust storm? It's wild they can even advertise that. I cannot really recommend this litter at all, especially for the price.

Huge mess! But good odor control

The fine grain of this litter sticks ALL OVER my cat’s paws, tracking EVERYWHERE. It’s like sand all over my bedroom floor and IN MY BED since kitty sleeps next

The fine grain of this litter sticks ALL OVER my cat’s paws, tracking EVERYWHERE. It’s like sand all over my bedroom floor and IN MY BED since kitty sleeps next to me. I’ve had this litter for less than a week and I’ve had to vacuum 3x per day to keep the mess at bay The odor control is excellent. I just wish there was a way to prevent tracking! We have a litter mat by her box, but sadly it doesn’t make a significant difference

Please note, this product was open and spilled over the contents of my entire order. I was asked to RETURN to spilled cat litter in order to receive a credit for the product decorating ALL ITEMS in my package. I believe a refund is in order, and perhaps the learning lesson is: cat litter should be sent separately from other items. Thank you, Chewy. Please assist!

I purchased this litter to reduce the dust created when my 2 cats use the litter box. When i opened the package, there was so much dust floating in the air, I had to run an air filtration unit. Honestly, regular cat litter much less dusty.

I think it would do the job, but cat didnt care for it.

My cat has Asthma and I wanted to give this a try. Unfortunatley, my cat did not seem to take to this litter. It was frustrating. I would not call this 'dust' free

This litter stays really clean and odor free. Pee is easily mixed and absorbed with unpleasant clumps. Poo is easily scooped out. Unfortunately, it is very very dusty, despite the “Clean Air” claim. Every time I stir the litter I can feel/smell the dust in the air, and I have to frequently dust the room because it settles everywhere. However, the pros out way the cons.

I tried this to see if it was worth switching from pretty litter. Turns out, no.

The level of tracking we have seen with this litter compared to tidy cats crystal litter and pretty litter is Wild and not in a good way. It sticks to our cats feet if she pees so there's clumps getting left on the floor. It travels everywhere and I'm tired of having to brush off my bed every night when the litter box isn't even in our bedroom. I started looking at other crystal litter brands to see if pretty litters tracking was typical for that type and I didn't realize how good we had it until I tried this one. I don't know how else to try and stop it going everywhere the cat goes. We have mats and everything but it hasn't helped. We are going back to the pretty litter so I'm glad we had the comparisons but it was not a fun ride.

This was great when I first started buying it, but it stopped working as well. I have two kitties and four litter boxes. Each cat tends to use only their one preferred litter box and the other two are just extras to keep them from stressing over it. The litter would not even last a week before I had to dump it all, much less a month. It was also really, really dusty and tracked a lot.

My cats don’t like it as well as other Dr Elsey’s other litter

They were not impressed. It was a substitute for the other Dr Elsey litter you didn’t have currently.
