This is really good litter. There's very little smell when kitty is done. The lack of a fifth star is because it is incredibly dusty. It pours out without dust, but once the cats start digging there is dust. My two adults cats are aggressive diggers and it is necessary to have a pee pad to collect what flies out of the box. (They cannot abide a covered box.) The kitten (6 weeks old) makes it fly and it gets in his fur. Overall, though, I really like this litter because it makes litter box duty so much easier. It is nice not to hassle with big bags of litter.
Good, but didn't meet our needs
My cats loved this litter from the start, the texture was soft and easy for then to use. Poop was quickly dried out so it had no time to smell up the box, however, one of our cats is diabetic and this litter just could not keep up. Maybe a week and the litter color was completely altered and the smell was awful. They had also tracked it around the house so I could hear it crunching between my slippers and the hard surface floors. I think if your cats don't have health issues that affect the frequency and potency of their urine it might work great, but for my boys it just couldn't keep up.
Do not buy
I purchased this litter due to our normal litter being out of stock. I thought because it was crystals that there would be little to no difference. It’s incredibly dusty, no odor control, and the urine does not clump together like other crystal based litter.
10 Claws up!
Punk is a senior and picky about her litter. She likes dr elseys senior litter but it has been hard to get at times, like now. So a friend recommended frisco and punk likes it and I like it and it is a bit less expensive than dr elsey so we’re satisfied.
Too too dusty. Can't be good for cats to breath.
This litter generates a ton of dust. I have to cover my face just to rake out a little of it. It also tracks outside the litter box every time the cat uses it. I like the normal crystal litter they make. No idea why this one is so different.
I started using pretty litter and absolutely loved it. It’s a little expensive so I started looking for different kinds. I hated the clumping litter and didn’t want to go back to it. I stumbled on to Crystal Cat Litter and I was instantly hooked. It’s easy to clean and no dust to deal with . Highly recommended
No odor control
Litter does ok absorbing liquid aspect of urine but does nothing to control the odor. If we weren't able to clean box after every use it would really be a problem. Won't purchase again unless my usual isn't available.
Crystal litter changed my life
I have had multiple cats for years and dreaded the litter box but this really dries it out before it stinks bad. I never use clumping because for me it has caused problems. So I love that this is non Clumping non scented, I just haven’t figured out the bag size yet, too much for one box, not enough for two boxes
So very dusty. I tried PrettyLitter, Micro Pearls (which I had to switch from due to being out of stock) and they were not dusty. Frisco makes clouds of dust that reach through the whole house. Going back to Micro Pearls or something else.
Didnt make it a week. Not suitable for cats that need to urinate a lot.
I have 3 cats. 2 large (16 & 20 lbs) and a 9lb geriatric 19 yo that pees like Niagara Falls. This is okay for one maybe 2 healthy cats. If you have cats that pee too much (very likely due to some medical condition) this will not be suitable. Its back to scoopable litter for me. The smell was awful and we didnt make it to a week.
