Sometimes my cat coughs after using this litter. Are you sure it's not causing respiratory issues, especially if they use it over a long period of time? Other than that, they absolutely love this litter and there is virtually no smell.
Answer by ChewyFeb 14, 2018
This litter is virtually dust free and will not cause respiratory problems. If you notice your cat coughing for a prolonged period of time it is recommended to seek veterinarian attention.

I have a diabetic kitty. Clumping litter gets stuck in his fur between his toes. Does this litter keep this from happening? Does the stirring make the urine absorb into the sand?
Answer by ChewyOct 02, 2017
Crystal litter works great with cat's that have long fur since it doesn't get stuck. However, it is recommend to only remove the waste and to rake or stir the crystals for aerate litter.

How does this help prevent kidney failure?
Answer by ChewyMar 12, 2018
Urinary infections are one of the causes of kidney failure in cats. The litter grows no bacteria and it does not stick to the coat of the cat. By using this litter, the cat is able to keep their genitals cleaner which in turn will decrease urinary tract infections and lower their risk of kidney failure.

I'm used to clumping litter. How do you clean the litter box and how frequently must you completely change the litter?
Answer by ChewyJan 08, 2019
You should remove solid waste daily and rake crystals to ensure freshness. One application of litter will typically last two weeks depending upon use. After two weeks, completely dump the contents of the box and wash with mild soap and hot water.

Quality Change

I’ve been buying this type for about a year but recently the quality has changed. It is still very fine which is gentle on my kitty’s paws, but it does not reduce smells like it used to, causing a more frequent change in her litter robot. Seems like a way to get more frequent purchases, but sadly it’s making me look for a replacement.

Not At All What I Expected

I really wish I had realized this was a micro crystal litter before I bought up on it. Micro crystal litters just do not seem to be able to absorb urine fast enough, and it all sinks to the bottom and creates this clumpy swamp. It's so gross. This litter is also EXTREMELY dusty for claiming its low dust, which was also very disappointing. So I guess I have to use what I have or find someone to give it to, but I absolutely would not purchase this again.

SO SO DUSTY

I really wanted to like this litter because the tracking and odor are minimal BUT the dust! Stirring this litter everyday is brutal, my eyes start to sting and my air purifier sensor always turns red. When my cat uses it I can smell the dust afterwards as well. It freaks me out. I am returning my last bag and sadly will have to switch to something else.

Very Dusty

I wouldn't recommend. The only thing I like about this is that it's easy to clean the litter. Otherwise it's extremely dusty and hard on my eyes and lungs so I can only imagine what it's doing to my cat. Also, it doesn't mask any smell.

Ok at first but

I really wanted to like this liter but man this stuff stinks and turns yellow fast. I have a liter robot and since this doesn't clump the pee would spread everywhere.

Love this product

This is a great litter. It makes cleaning the litter box a breeze. Unfortunately, my cat has developed a skin allergy to the litter and I have to find a substitute which is really too bad. I'm not sure if this is common but she is licking the hair off of her paws so it's goodbye to the best litter I've ever found.

It gets a YES from this kitty household!

Since we have many boxes and many kitties , we are always looking to accommodate these furry babies at different life stages. This litter gets an A+ from my older kitties they definitely gravitate towards this particular crystal litter. A keeper for this family.

Extremely dusty

Caused sneezing in senior car. Horribly dusty. I have used dr elseys other litters and havent really noticed much dust so not sure sure why their litter targeted towards senior cats would be dustier, I would expect just the opposite

Too dusty

I love the idea of this litter, and love how lightweight it is, and easy to clean. That is it. The litter is insanely dusty and fills the house with litter dust that coats everything and gets in your lungs. I made the mistake of buying this again hoping that I just got a bad batch, but nope. I emptied the box and refilled it outside hoping to alleviate the dust, but the second a cat uses it, dust is everywhere again. My husband got a respiratory infection just from the amount of dust it creates. My cats use it, but run from the box sneezing.

Cat owner of elderly pet.

Best litter I ever used & I've used many thru my years as a cat owner. At 1st, I was put off by the dust, but once my cat started using it. I was delighted & so was she. It's true. Absorbs odor & urine, easy to clean. As a senior citizen I struggled with clumping litter that hardened into a cement like substance. Now cleaning the box is quick & easy. I would highly recommend this product.
