Description

For a novel approach to help your canine pal manage his weight for a healthier lifestyle, nourish him with Dr. Tim's Weight Management Metabolite Formula Grain-Free Dry Dog Food. Formulated through the combined efforts of a Ph.D. canine nutritionist and a veterinarian experienced in competitive dog sports and companion animal medicine, this food has elevated levels of protein, a complementary fiber structure and moderate fat content that work in tandem with your pet’s natural metabolism to support weight loss. Metabolite acts as a lock and key, opening one metabolic route after another to ensure your dog is optimizing his natural ability to burn calories and ensure you won’t give up due to excessive begging. It incorporates all angles of the weight loss process, from the molecular structure of the ingredients to the psychology of the pet owner, to build and maintain your dog’s healthy weight while understanding the behavioral difficulties of an overweight dog who’s always hungry.

  • So far so good... I would buy again!

I have three dogs, two of which are currently eating this food (my third dog is allergic to chicken so can't eat this). My super picky but already trim 65lb basset does not care for it. But she hates just about everything about after couple of weeks anyway (she has tried probably 20 different brand/flavors over the past few years). I add a little warm broth or water to make a gravy to entice her to eat it. I also use fresh/steamed fruits/veggies (mostly green beans but also throw in a little sweet potatoes, apple, blueberries, spinach, carrots, peas, etc) as a topper for additional nutrition and to help coax her. The feeding instructions say she should be getting 4 or more cups a day, but when I fed her 2 cups per meal (2x/day) she was leaving quite a bit in the bowl. She eats about 3 cups a day (with about a total of 1 cup of fruit/veggies a day) and seems satisfied (isn't begging or looking for more food). My overweight beagle eats anything and everything with gusto. He inhales this food. He is about 36 lbs and needs to get down to about 22 lbs. The instructions say to feed 2-ish cups a day, which I did at first, but my dog was super burpy and his stomach gurgled a lot, so I've reduced it down to a cup a day of kibble and about a cup a day or fruit/veggie topper and that resolved the burping and gurgling. He always looks for more food, even when I fed him more - he is a garbage disposal! He seems to be overall satisfied and isn't begging or trying to steal food. He has lost a little over a pound in that past three weeks with no other changes to diet or exercise (though more exercise is happening soon!). One of those weeks was the changeover from his previous food to this one. … more

  • I can see the weight loss

I absolutely love the Dr. Tims dry dog foods. I have been feeding the GF Kinesis for years, my smooth coated collie does great with it and so did my Great Pyrenees/English Bulldog puppy. Unfortunately my now over 3 year old Great Pyrenees/English Bulldog has put on some weight, So in my search for a good weight loss dog food, I was absolutely thrilled that Dr. Tim's had brought out a weight management GF food. I can already see the weight coming off from her and this is important to us since she has had bad hips, bad knees, and arthritus since before she was even 1 year old. Dr. Tim's has great ratings, no recalls, and is nutritionally balanced with a lot of good things in it, and they like it I absolutely love the Dr. Tims dry dog foods.
