Your December Monthly Horoscope—and What It Means for Your Pet

Welcome to the end of one very interesting year. What does your monthly horoscope have in store for the final countdown to 2021? Let’s dig right in.

The solar eclipse on December 14th in Sagittarius ushers in a wave of optimism and an extra dose of holiday spirit. Have fun decking the halls with your family members—even the furry ones can get involved with festive pet décor like the Frisco Christmas Tree Dog & Cat Lounger and Reindeer Cat Scratching Post & Tunnel.

Saturn and Jupiter will align in Aquarius this month, too, with this massive planetary shift setting the stage for big changes ahead. Remember that pets can feel these changes as well, and if you notice your furry friend is struggling with some stress, you may want to talk to your vet about stress-relieving activities you can do together. Aries (March 21-April 19)

You possess all the tools to finally make moves toward your dream career or one of your life goals. Keep your eye on the prize and know that it’s all coming together just as you hoped. The biggest shift comes when Jupiter and Saturn move into Aquarius, which may bring some powerful allies into your life and the opportunity to make connections with those are walking the same path as you. Between all that goal-getting and the holidays, be sure to make time for pets: Regular walks and playtime will keep you both calm.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

A new procedure or personnel shakeup at work will keep you busy as the month begins, but in spite of that, you’ll be ready for the change however unexpected. Meanwhile, as the full moon in Cancer approaches, you’ll have an opportunity to share your knowledge and wisdom with those in need: Whether you’re volunteering over the holidays or soothing a family member’s concerns, you’ll find the right words. And this doesn’t just apply to humans! You may find creative ways to calm a stressed-out pet, like trying a new calming supplement (with your vet’s approval).

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

Holidays with your fur kids will be a balancing act: Between decorating, planning your menu and shopping, you’ll have plenty to do—but do your best to stick to your pets’ routines. Regular walks, meals, playtime and grooming are key for helping to prevent anxiety issues in pets. If you don’t celebrate the holidays, you may find yourself able to make a purchase on your own wish list or finally finish a home improvement project. Go you!

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

If you’re tired of the instability of your current job, take a good look at your budget, be honest with yourself about where exactly you want to be and update your resume to reflect the job you really deserve. It’s out there—you just need to push out of your comfort zone to find it. In relationships, you’ll want to do the same thing: Try something different! If you’re in a partnership, find ways to be more spontaneous to keep the spark alive. If you’ve been thinking about adding a new pet to your family, now may be the time to take the plunge. Leo (July 23-August 22)

Take the time to slow down and reflect on your real role in others’ lives. Listen to the needs of friends and family and cultivate those relationships. You’ll find peace as you find acceptance for your own faults (yes, we all have them—even Leos!) and learn how to forgive others for theirs. This is a powerful month for you and you’ll emerge with stronger boundaries. Carefully listening will pay off with your pets, too, as this month you may discover a hidden talent they have. Virgo (August 23-September 22)

You’re fine working behind the scenes and your monthly horoscope predicts plenty of opportunities for you to tackle tasks and be proud of what you’ve accomplished. Your business may be expanding online or branching out into new territories, so keep an eye out for a chance to step into a new role setting things up. Love seems to be brewing behind the scenes as well during the second half of the month as a flirtation you’ve been enjoying may turn into a lovely romance. Just be sure your potential love interest gets your pet’s stamp of approval—they really do know you best.

Libra (September 23-October 22)

Get creative with ways to connect all your friends and family if they can’t travel to see you. You’ve always been the perfect host and just because you can’t physically be with someone doesn’t mean you can’t have a special holiday celebration with them. Throw a virtual bash and go all out on decorating if it brings you joy. You can even treat yourself to a new ornament for your Christmas tree. Scorpio (October 23-November 21)

Your December horoscope predicts several opportunities for events with friends and family—more than you’re typically comfortable with this time of year. Even over Zoom, Scorpios have limited patience for small talk. So, make sure that in addition to any social events (be sure to keep them safely virtual or socially distant!), you take time to rest and recharge. Spending quiet time with your fur kids is a good way to get back on track when things start to feel chaotic. Pets seem to know exactly what you need, and some quality time snuggling on the couch sounds like just the ticket.

Sagittarius (November 22-December 21)

The first half of the month, you’ll have plenty to do with work and personal projects and the days will seem to fly by. You’re good at handling a lot at once, but by mid-month you’ll be ready to get out from under the responsibilities you’ve been handling and relax for a change. Find a new hiking trail or dog park if weather permits, or just get in the car and drive someplace new with your furry companion (if they like car rides, that is). You’ve got big things happening this month, Capricorn! Beginning on the 14th, you’ll have the chance to connect with like-minded groups and new friends (just remember to practice social distancing!). These folks might just open your world up to new thoughts and experiences. Meanwhile, your unique talents will prove valuable and be appreciated in return. Take those gifts and find a way to give back by connecting with rescue organizations or volunteering to care for animals in shelters. It will fill your heart with gratitude and appreciation for your own pet while you help others find their forever homes.

Aquarius (January 20-February 18)

Take time this month to reflect on how you’ve been “showing up” in the world. Are you following through on your promises to yourself and others? Are you dropping the ball on collaborative projects at work? Are you flaking on quality time with friends or on that extra-long walk you promised your pooch? Take a personal inventory and move forward into the new year with a solid plan to live your life in full authenticity. Start small with simple goals, like being better about sticking to your pet’s daily routine, and then grow from there. It’s time to fully embrace being the person your dog thinks you are!

Pisces (February 19-March 20)

Your monthly horoscope predicts that a self-improvement book or class may awaken your inner confidence as you realize it’s time for a significant change. Expect some healing energy to come into play this month: You may find yourself the recipient of someone’s amends, or you may be making some yourself to friends or family.
