It worked in my goldfish tank

By Sanx on Feb 8, 2021

I've been trying to go thru the whole good bacteria set up thing in my 55 gallon tank but it was taking forever. I did it in a 10 gallon tank so I knew it was possible. 3 months and it was still cloudy. I smelled fish water across the room. I heard about moss balls being a trick so I started with 3. No joke within less than 24 hours the tank started clearing up, by morning crystal clear. The moss balls like Tap water so its ok to rinse out, squeeze, shape and toss back in. Sometimes they sink straight away , sometimes they float around and sink later. I've added 2 more since the original 3 mainly because our 2 inch feeder goldfish from the carnival 4 years ago has grown into a 12 inch small I've been trying to go thru the whole good bacteria set up thing in my 55 gallon tank but it was taking forever. Bernard has never been happier. In the beginning the water did get a translucent green shade and Bernard's white scales changed greenish but he was fine and everything cleared up. I probably should have soaked and rinsed the balls longer. Oh, fish water smell, totally gone. Moss balls don't help with algae from sunlight problem, I don't think they're suppose to. Stay safe and sorry for bad punctuation :( weakness :) Cheers … more

it literally just sinks to the bottom of the tank

By good on Oct 11, 2020

I honestly cannot tell a difference. It just sits at the bottom of my tank. If you want something that works I would recommend just buying those white turtle shaped packs. Those seem to work better for me.

Good product but no directions from company.

By Cowabunga on Jul 11, 2020

Purchased two for my 29 gallon tank and I just dropped them without a water change expecting a change in the water because it was just 2 weeks since my last water change. I have two adolescent turtles which are growing obviously. I noticed they sank within a couple of hours and did not help. I got them to clear cloudiness in my tank but it wasn't working. Here is the flip story. 2 weeks later I cleaned my tank rinsed the moss balls very well and dropped them in. This time it took longer for them to drop and it had been 2 weeks and the tank is in better shape than tank has been after weeks of my cleaning. I went on vacation and came back to see the tank clean. You should give them space to swim, have a basking area with a good uv light and they will be happier than a crowded tank with obatruction. Plus your tank will not stink as much in deep water. My tank doesn't stink at all between water changes. Love it! … more

    My turtle almost died!

By MossBall on Jul 1, 2020

So i thought I was doing a good deed for my turtle, and once I put this in the tank she immediately attacked it and got herself stuck to it. Where I had to drain the water out so she wouldn’t drown. Lesson learned.
