Questions & Answers

4 Customer Questions

How does the gallon size of the tank affect the size of the clip needed when the only part the clip clips onto is the top frame and the lid? For example, I have a 30 gallon tank and a 50 gallon tank. Both have the same width of top frame and lid combined.
Answer by ChewyDec 29, 2020
This cover clip set comes in two sizes, which differ by clip length. The Small is for terrariums up to 29 gallons and the Large is for terrariums greater than 30 gallons. Some aquarium frames may vary in size. In this case apply gentle pressure to tighten or loosen the shape of the Screen Cover Clip. Please make sure the Exo Terra Screen Cover is secure before leaving animals unattended.

Does the 3 count come with 3 pairs of clips? So 9 clips total or 3 clips total?
Answer by ChewyFeb 13, 2022
This set includes 2 screen cover clips. The 3 count comes with 3 clip sets. You receive 6 clips in total.

Will these fit a 50 gallon

Great Product

I have had the rounded clips. They worked well enough, but these are the best I have ever used or seen.

Saint Proof

My new clips keep St. Patrick from driving me away from my home. It's my cornsnake haven. Besides I get the best mice here. And the cats don't get to drink from my water dish. I really don't want cat spit in my water. Do you know where their tongues have been?

Screen clips

Works great the clips go on easy and remove easy but do keep the lid secure.

Works well, use your brain

First of all, these are a cheap price. A lot of reviews mentioned the were too tight and hard to remove. When I first put them on, they were very tight, not going to lie, but to some, that's a big positive. I wanted slightly easier access, so I just bent the metal clips slightly and they're a lot easier to remove. I have 2 on either end of a 20 long and I can still grab the lid in the middle, front and back, and lift up the whole terrarium without a gap in the middle. Your snake or whatever, will not be able to escape. I honestly don't know why people post reviews with problems, just bend them a little and use a screwdriver to pry if you need to? If you can't get it off within a minute right out of the box, you may not be properly equipped to care for a pet.

Rescue with 200 plus animals

My mom and I used to run a reptile rescue in which we had 200 plus animals in our care. The majority of which had to have these clips on their cage. I have never had a problem getting them on or off of the cages. I have read a lot of reviews saying they can't get them off and I don't know if it's because I've had a lot of practice or they just don't know what they're doing. I find it funny sorry not sorry LOL

Locks for your escape artist

Secure your escape artist. Before I used these my african sideneck turtle (Jewels) would escape and be under the couch. Work excellent!

Garbage, don’t bother

These are a different design than the style sold 20 years ago that kinda worked but the stationary section would annoyingly fall off the tank when the screen was removed . This new design is really easy to install but stupidly hard to remove when you need to open the cage. If completely on I was afraid I was going to break the cage when I needed to open it again. Not to mention I needed a screwdriver or knife to open. If mostly on, would scratch up my screens then either fall off if bumped or lock into place. Don’t bother, I just put a gallon of water or rock on top instead.

Does what it's meant to but...

The screen clips do what they're meant to, but I'm giving 4 stars because they are a bit difficult to get off.
