Worth a try for flies & ticks

As anyone can tell you there is an ongoing battle with flies and ticks on our horses. This is my first time trying Equi-Spot. It seems to be deterring the majority of flies and haven't seen anymore ticks. Still need to add fly spray to the legs every couple days but so much better then the past. Make sure you read instructions and place drops where indicated. Know of some who put whole tube just on legs and then complain because it irritates the horse. If you place where you're instructed to it keeps horses pretty fly and tick free. Would recommend.

Works great

This takes about 3 rounds of two week apart applications but then it works great. I started in the spring and I have no flies this summer. My horses are no longer fly magnets. Other reviews state the effect is cumulative, I'm glad I stuck it out. My horses always get summer sores, despite my best efforts. None this year.

No more ticks

I have been using equi spot for a number of years now on our small herd. I have found that if I apply it when the grass just starts to grow or just after our last frost in the spring and follow again in two weeks as recommended on the box, I can then increase the time to reapply to 3 weeks the next time and then 4 weeks or monthly after that. I do not find any ticks after the first treatment. None of the horses has had any bad reactions. They do feel it spreading over their skin so some will protest a bit but as soon as it’s on and I let them go, they forget all about it. Never any burns or rashes. Just no ticks. I don’t know if it helps with other biting insects but it’s worth it for the ticks alone.

Really wanted to love this

My mare has really extreme reactions to tick bites so I tried this out hoping it would help. Unfortunately there was no difference. I read the reviews and applied it by hand and did a spot check first to make sure she wouldn’t have a bad reaction. She was completely fine with it, but so were the bugs.

Works great

My old gelding gets bad reactions to tick bites. This stuff works well to repel ticks and lasts a good two weeks. Chewy always has great prices and discounts for auto ship so I buy from here!

Shadow "FREE"

Shadow is Maggie's friend and he has ALWAYS had a real problem with flies! They just love him to bits and he always has big bare bite marks on his chest every summer. Nothing has worked for him, while the other horses are relatively free from flies HE is covered. NOT ANYMORE! I tried this on him and was amazed the first day that he had no flies, then I expected that the next day the flies would be back, I kept expecting them everyday but for the recomended 3 weeks he has been free of flies! Just dosed him again but this stuff is amazing.

Spot On! Equi-Spot for the win - mostly for ticks.

While I didn't notice a significant reduction in flies on my three horses, I DID notice dead ticks after they came in from the lower pasture. I've applied this product, twice, on my three horses, two weeks apart. I live in the southern Piedmont of NC where plenty of flying, crawling, and otherwise annoying pests and insects are around. I consider this a win. For fly control, my other methods are: 1. disposable fly bags with attractant. 2. compost pile (manure and bedding from run-in sheds. 3. spread manure in pastures often with drag harrow. 4. fly predators 5. fly repellant spray and now 6. Equi-Spot. I'm happy with this purchase and feel the value for the money is equivalent.

FlyDropsForMyHorse

I have been using this for 11 years on my horse. He never minded it until last year. I guess the smell bothers him because he can't stand for me to put it on, now. I tried putting some vanilla by his nose and that didn't help. I will get it on him, somehow, because it really works and he won't tolerate the fly spray. Thank you for not going up on your price!!!!!!!! Rhonda Smith

Learning curve

1st mistake, thinking this was a month long fly and tick control product, it’s 14 days. 2nd mistake, this is a spot control medicine for flies, so I now use it by hand and apply it all over my horses coat and nether regions. Once I figured these out it’s a solid product. I’ve noticed a dramatic reduction in flies and ticks.
