Product FormLiquid
Analogue of Feline Facial Pheromone: 2%. Excipients to: 100g
- Diffusers should be placed where the cat spends the most time. If you are considering this product for a cat peeing outside the box, you can also place the diffuser in the room where the cat is urine spraying most often.
- Feliway MultiCat diffuser should be used for at least 30 days. After 7 days of use, owners noticed a decrease in their cats negative interactions. After 1 month, 84% of cat owners using Feliway MultiCat reported significant improvement in cats getting along data on file. Depending on the severity of conflict and tension between your cats, you may need to continue using the Feliway MultiCat diffuser longer than 30 days.
- When choosing a plug for the Feliway MultiCat diffuser, make sure there is nothing above the outlet that will obstruct the airflow and diffusion of the pheromone. It should not be placed under a cabinet, behind a couch, or near an open window.
- Refills will last up to 30 days but some variations may occur depending on air flow and ambient temperature within the room.
- One diffuser will cover up to 700 sq ft in an open floor plan. The diffuser will not diffuse pheromone outside of any given room though. Given the size, floor plan, and where your cats spend the most time, you should consider getting more than one diffuser.
- Diffuser heads should be replaced every 6 months.
- Newly plugged in diffuser units may have a slight odor for the first 24 hours, but it may last up to 72 hours. Pheromone diffusers are made of self-extinguishing plastic and comply with the International Electro-technical commission (IEC), European (EN) and UL required standards.
- Store in a well-ventilated area. Dispose of contents and container in hazardous or special waste collection in accordance with local regulations.
What pheromone is in Feliway MultiCat?
The pheromone released by Feliway MultiCat is the synthetic copy of the natural comforting pheromone released from the mother cat's mammary area during the nursing period. This appeasing pheromone helps maintain the bond between the kittens and their mother and helps kittens feel safe and secure. The scientific team at Ceva has found that this pheromone can help reduce tension and conflict between cats in the home.
Will Feliway MultiCat affect humans or other animals in my home?
No. Pheromones are species-specific and will only be detected by other cats in the home. Cats of all ages detect these pheromones throughout life.
Can I use Feliway MultiCat with a young kitten?
Yes. There is no minimum age for using Feliway pheromones. Kittens are able to perceive pheromones in the environment and respond accordingly.
How long should I use Feliway MultiCat?
It depends on the nature and the extent of the reason you are using the product. The minimum recommended duration for most situations is 1 month. But some situations may benefit from permanent use.
What type of behavior problems may not be helped by Feliway MultiCat?
Feliway MultiCat has been tested in households where there is tension and conflict between cats. Feliway MultiCat has not been tested for aggression toward the owner(s). In this situation, consulting your veterinarian or a behaviorist is strongly recommended.
Should I unplug Feliway MultiCat diffuser at night?
No -- the diffuser should be plugged in continuously day and night. Frequent unplugging may prevent the diffuser from working properly. Efficacy was demonstrated in clinical trials with non-interrupted use of the diffuser allowing the cat to constantly perceive the pheromone’s signal. Furthermore, cats are awake and active even at nocturnal times.
I'm pregnant. Can I use a diffuser? Should I stop using it?
You may continue using your diffuser. According to toxicological data on the components of our products, no particular risk is expected following inhalation of the pheromone products when used as recommended.
Can I use the diffuser in a room with air-conditioning?
Yes, a diffuser can be used in a house (or a vet clinic) where there is an air-conditioner, provided that it is not plugged in near the air-conditioner, vents, cold air returns, or exhaust fans. Being near additional air-flow may accelerate the diffusion process and the refill vial may not last a full 30 days.
How can I tell if my diffuser is turned on or working?
When the diffuser is plugged into a working outlet, the diffuser head will be warm to the touch.
Can I use the diffuser while leaving the windows open, particularly in the summer? Will that affect the efficacy?
Usage with open windows or heavy air flow may result in diffusion at a faster rate. The product may not last the full expected 30 days. In such a case, a different diffuser location should be considered within the house, targeting the area where the cat(s) spends most of its time.

Works Surprisingly Good!
By ScottLady on Jan 9, 2021
I needed something to help my 2 girls after their brother passed. The dynamic was off in our house with him gone and there was tension and sparring between the girls. I got 2 of the plug-ins with refills and 2 additional refills. I am using 2 plug-ins for the size of our house so we get thorough coverage. I noticed a change in their behavior within an hour of plugging them in. The anxiety and fear is gone and the sparring is almost stopped completely. My always nervous girl is now happy-go-lucky, friendly and loving to us. This has changed both their behavior for the better and is well worth the monthly cost to have happy, mellow kitties.

My kitty thanks you!
By Allie on Jan 2, 2021
I have an elderly cat who was extremely anxious and basically lived on our kitchen table out of fear. After 2-3 months of using this product, yes you must be patient and give it some time, I have noticed a significant change in all 3 of my kitties, especially with my elderly cat. We placed 2 diffusers in our down stairs to over the entire floor and she now not only leaves the table, she seems comfortable in all areas in our down stairs. Her over grooming as decreased significantly, and she even ventures upstairs from time to time even though we have no diffuser up there. She has even gained some weight after losing some due to anxiousness. Did not work for my cats
By Mikki on Jan 1, 2021
I knew based on the review that there was a 50/50 chance if this working. Well it didn’t work for me. I had 4 rescue cats that I got as bottle babies so they grew up together. Then my neighbor moved out and left her 2, eight year old, mostly outdoor cats. My cats have always been indoors. I don’t have outdoor cats, it’s not safe. I took in the 2 abandoned cats and did everything that I was supposed to do, watched all the videos did very slow introductions, had them eating together. They weren’t happy but they weren’t trying to kill each other. It’s gotten worse. I have one that stalks on of the new cats non-stop and then there’s a fight and I have to throw the stalker in her room. Wonderfully adjusting
By Mimi on Jan 10, 2021
Bought the set and 2 extra refills for my grand-furbabies at Christmas! I knew they would be moving into my home for a brief period until their new home was ready for them and their human parents. Since they had never been to our home and would be living in a game room, I thought this product might help!BINGO, they are doing so well! They are laying on our laps, sitting on all the furniture, leaving the LG fish tanks alone ( 90 and 125 gal with big fish in them.) They also have to get used to the scent of five rabbits and 3 dogs that live in our home! I am quite stunned at how well they have adjusted in 18 hours!

This worked....immediately
By Magnifico on Dec 28, 2020
I just moved from an apartment on a residential street in BK to an apartment building in NYC. They've been freaking out over the sounds in the hallway and outside the window. I moved 3 weeks ago and they've still been SO stressed. Malcolm has UTI issues so I was seeing blood in his urine even though I'm already doing Canin SO wet food (w/water) and Uromaxx. Betty would meow in the middle of the night. I'd try to play with them but they were too stressed to even fully enjoy themselves. They were always on guard. Oh! and they would fight each other but that was the norm. They're from the same litter. Go figure. I plugged this thing in and it was like a switch went on...immediately. I feel like I witnessed a miracle. … more

Something’s working
By NAomi on Jan 13, 2021
We adopted our second cat 8 months ago, and though there was no real conflict, there wasn’t much love. After using Multicat Feliway for a month, the cats spend a lot more time a lot closer together, give head licks, lay next to each other, play more in-synch when I tantalize them with toys. Was it time elapsed or the infuser? I don’t know. Nothing else was changed. Also, the new sweetie had several seizures, 8 weeks apart, and now has had none for 16 weeks after using the Classic Feliway. Coincidence? Heck, I don’t know.

Helped my 2 bengals on a road trip
By Owlie on Jan 8, 2021
UPDATE: We moved into a new apartment, and any time we plug the plug-in into the outlets, it starts to smell as if the plug-in is melting plastic. We really really depend on this stuff so I will leave the plug in for an hour, then remove, and keep going. It's annoying and I feel like if I forget, the apartment may burn down. ORIGINAL: We had to move across the country for work, and my bengals are too large for an airplane cabin. We drove and stopped at 4 hotels. This plug-in saved the day! Our cats were chill.

Genuinely Helps
By Susan on Dec 22, 2020
We've got two rescue cats, Arwen & Thorin, and though most of the time they get along just fine, they seem to hit into time periods where Thorin picks a fight with Arwen. He gets aggressive with her and she starts stressing out ... the Feliway definitely helps. He gets less aggressive and she calms down. We've placed one of the diffusers in the hallway that leads to the bedrooms and I have observed them always stopping at the diffuser and sniffing it before continuing either to or from the bedroom. We stopped using it for a while and they were fine, but then they started having difficulties again. So the plan is to continue using this.

Helps some
By AScrapOfKindness on Jan 12, 2021
I have a cat who is going through kidney failure and should not be unduly stressed, and another who is a fireball. I have a few of these plugged into various parts of the house and it has helped keep things around here a bit more calm. At least manageable. There is a mild scent which I don't find offensive and after a while is completely unnoticeable.

Worked two rounds worth
By Fabb on Jan 13, 2021
Suggested by my vet to calm my 10 yr old male cat when we brought home a 1 yr old female cat. The same day I plugged it in, his rabid growls and fiest calmed down. It ran out after a month and he kicked back into growling until I bought another one and boom, peace again!! I swear it works
