Thanks, Firstmate for a great dogfood!
By toby on Apr 6, 2021
Unbelievable!!! I switched my hoarded skinny and dull furred GSD from prescription food (Hills) for IBD to this exact dogfood (after several fails with other brands) and he is thriving like never before!!! We adopted him and he came with the other food: 3 cups am and 3cups pm. Yet he was never satisfied and always seemed hungry :( Now he takes 1.5 cups am and pm with Firstmate chicken mixed in (another amazing product!) He is happier and more interested in all foods and his coat sheds about 80% less and is shiny and beautiful!!! Thank you, Firstmate!

Dog Says Yuck
By TravelDog on Dec 31, 2020
I switched to the chicken formula from the lamb formula with the hope that my pup would like it better. He doesn’t. He likes it even less. I love the idea of this food, as my pup has a strong aversion to starch, but when I have to entice him by adding stuff to it, it isn’t worth it. He will eat the good stuff and spit the kibble on the floor. Not sure I’ll have better luck with the fish formula. This has been an expensive trial process.

Dog likes it but...
By RyeRye on Sep 16, 2020
This is a great food and it hasn’t upset my terrier mix’s super sensitive stomach. He is typically on Hills Low Fat ID for his stomach issues and that food helps him stay comfortable but I wanted to get him on something more healthy and less full of fillers and junk. This has been working out. Unfortunately, the kibble size is problematic for him. He struggles a bit with the bigger, harder kibble. They are noticeably bigger then the Hills he is used to and I can tell he has a hard time with them. I might try a bag of FirstMate’s other chicken and blueberry small bites version to see how he does on that. This is a great food but just too big for my older, smaller dog.

Good grain friendly choice
By LoriR on Jul 21, 2020
I've always fed my dog Blue Buffalo dry dog food supplemented with wet/canned food. First Mate was introduced to me by my sister. I like the grain friendly choice and my dog loves it. The pieces are bigger than the Blue Buffalo Small Breed but he doesn't seem to have a problem with it. I'll buy the bigger bag next time.

My border collie mix is extremely picky when it comes to food. She absolutely loves FirstMate. I trust the ingredients and the quality of food that this company puts out. I highly recommend this brand to anyone looking for a great dry dog food.
