Set lamp high at one end of terrarium; pet may retreat to cooler side if desired. Provide structure allowing pet top climb up toward lamp. DO NOT put food or water under lamp! Dimming option does NOT work for compact fluorescent or mercury vapor bulbs. To use these bulbs, the dimmer switch must be turned completely on.
Open the box and the plastic bag, then spread out the objects.
Unscrew the base of the clamp to extend it to its outermost.
Once you have unscrewed the clamp, place the "ball" of the holster between the clamp.
After you have the "ball" of the holster in one side of the clamp, place the lamp in the other side, the screw the washer in until it stops.
I just received this today and I placed my Fluker’s Ceramic Heat Emitter 100W bulb inside, turned it on, and it blew!! It even flipped my breaker! My dad tested to see if it had any electricity going through it and it did, but I plugged it back in with my bulb, turned it on all the way, and my bulb never warmed up. I place my bulb back in my old dome to see if my bulb was working and it warmed up immediately. I hope I can get a refund on this so I can buy something that will actually work.
glad I bought this

The dimmer does exactly what it promises and the large dome radiates the heat nicely!
Works fine, as advertised

Works great, only problem is you're going to need a dimming thermostat to get the most potential out of it
If your bulbs keep breaking, might be time to buy a new lamp! Get this one!!

This fixture is great, I was having problems with a previous lamp where my bulbs kept breaking. After buying new bulbs, I figured it was maybe the lamp fixture that had the problem. Turns out I was right, this lamp has been running with no issues!! I have mine sitting on top of a screen lid and its nice I have an optional clamp if I ever want to change my set up
Great for bulbs OK for ceramic

I got this lamp to dim a ceramic heat bulb. It works ok for that, it still seems kinda all or nothing for the ceramic heat bulb, but there is a slight bit of control to it which I appreciate because those ceramic heat bulbs get wicked hot when all the way on. I was hoping the dimmer would control the ceramic a little better than it does, but it does do a little something. This housing works awesome for typical heat bulbs/regular bulbs. The dimmer is great for that. Would definitely recommend.
Good product, bad packaging

Lamps were crushed and bent, everything in the box was packed very tightly with no padding.

This dome with dimmer is a great price and works well! I’ve had it over a year and it’s still running strong. Start it on the lowest dim setting and monitor your temps with a reliable source (I use an acurite to monitor temps and humidity). If your room/house temps fluctuate a lot, you’ll have to monitor and adjust the dimmer, so a thermostat with a regular dome may be a better option. If your temps are usually consistent, this works great!
I love how it dims your reptiles light!

I did not know this one had a light dimmer. It's perfect when controller my turtles light. I can se it all the way bright and dim the light as the day goes by! This is a definite plus! I only gave it a four star because it's a clamping light rather than one you can hook to your tank roof. But i still recommend it!
Great to adjust

I bought these to go with my 150 watt reptile bulbs. They work perfectly although they are brand new
I've had for less than two months and its already gone out.

Usually Fluker's products are something I look for but this product disappointed me. I've had it set up in my bearded dragon enclosure for 2 months and 3 bulbs have burnt out in it... I've tried different outlets and power strips also.
