How long is the wire to plug in the wall? How long is the other wire for the thermometer part?
Answer by ChewyJul 08, 2021
The sensor cord for the temperature probe on the RT-600 is 6 feet long. The power cord to plug it into the wall is 70 inches in length.

Is this a dimming thermostat or a on/off?
Answer by ChewyFeb 08, 2021
This thermostat is designed to turn on heating devices using the heat mode or to turn on cooling devices in cool mode.

Is this a pulse thermostat?
Answer by ChewyJun 29, 2021
This is not a pulse thermostat. In HEAT mode, the controller will turn on heating devices (e.g., heat lamps, under tank heaters, ceramic heat emitters) when the actual temperature in your terrarium drops below the programmed temperature setting. In COOL mode, the controller will turn on a cooling device (e.g., fan) when the temperature in your terrarium rises above the programmed temperature setting. The probe for this thermometer can be placed in the substrate, wrapped around furniture or branches or taped to the side of the tank. Please be sure that your animal cannot chew on or entangle itself in the cable.

Is this item only meant for 1 under tank heater or am I able to reuse the thermostat every time I purchase a new/larger size under tank heater?
Answer by ChewyNov 11, 2021
This thermostat controls the power output to whatever is plugged into it based on the temperature it reads. Multiple heaters can be plugged into it using an additional extension cable and all the heaters will be either on or off based on the setting of the thermostat.

Great Starter on/off thermostat

Had it for a week now and no issue . Box had clear instructions on the inside showing how to set temperatures on ether hot or cold devices. Haven’t yet messed around with the built in alarm so I cannot say anything about that. Only grievances is that there is a small audible pop when the device turns the power on and off to the device : and that there is no way to dim the lighted numbers at night so it does make a small amount of light at night .

Amazing product!!

I would recommend this to any small animal or reptile parent! This product does exactly what it states and does a fantastic job of keeping my hedgehog warm in his enclosure! 10 out of 10 gold stars

Does its job, worth the price

It sure does the job well and makes sure the tank doesn't overheat. The thermometer is just underwhelming and needs to be constantly readjusted into a proper place. it works fine but is easy to dislodge and move around. Fell into the water bowl one time.

Does as it says.

It's a thermostat - the sensor has an incredibly long cord so you can really put it where you please. The device itself is really self-explanatory and took me no time at all to set up for my critter area.
