Charlie loves it, I know he is getting the nutrition he needs in this food. Of course he gets his greens and a little watermelon on the side. Thanks Chewy for keeping this in stock
2 red earred sliders that are the pickiest eaters ever!! They like to be fed by hand and I can no longer get Wardley treats. I got these because they are about the same size as the treats so I can hold them. They are a little to hard for them to eat so I have to let them float to soften. They will eat after sitting in the water. I realize they are for tortoise.
I buy 3-4 of these at a time and give my tortoises a couple of handful everyday. They love it. It's healthy for them and keeps them content before going inside for the night. Would recommend to any Tortoise owner.
First, I did not realize this was such a big container. Second, I did not realize the pieces were so big. My red-foot tortoise does not even like it. I tried it both dry and wet. I get so tired of wasting money but it is such a hit and miss with what I feed him. Maybe he has gotten so used to eating fresh food that jarred or packaged food no longer appeals to him. But I wanted this as a backup for when I don't have the fresh food available for him.
My tortoises love it! As soon as I set it down they come running. Well a fast walk is more like it. Haha. It makes them happy so I’m happy. I do wet it down quite a bit for them.
My Desert tortoises love this! The price is better than the big box pet stores and the container size is just what I need for my tortoise family.
My tortoises just came out of hibernation and are really enjoying this. I'm going to keep buying it!!
My tortoise loves this treat. He only gets it to supplement his diet in the winter.
My sonoran desert tortoise, which is almost 6 yrs old (2 of them) do not like this. I'm not sure if they have a hard time eating it or just prefer the lettuce & fruits I always give them twice, sometimes 3 times a day. And the problem is, my beagle dog eats what they leave behind, I'm not sure this is good for my dog. I also didn't realize I was ordering such a big container. I read other reviews and I think it's a good product, maybe for bigger tortoises? I'm going to ask on my Nextdoor community app if anyone in the neighborhood uses this and perhaps donate it to them.
I give this to our California Desert Tortoise. He eats it if I moisten it slightly (I use a teaspoon of apple juice) and crush the pellets. I mix it in with his normal meal of romaine, kale, and carrot shavings. Also good to add things like mulberry tree leaves and grape leaves if you have them. I tried the smaller pellets and he wouldn’t eat them, but these he loves if softened!
