I have had many cat trees. This Frisco tree is AMAZING! My two cats couldn't wait to get on it, and when it was ready, they both were on it in warp speed, picked their spot and settled in for a long snooze. It is solid and well built with quality materials. The carpet is very soft. The tree was impressivly packed. I live in an apartment, and my boxes are left at the door subject to weather. If the box were to get wet, the tree would be safe as it is enclosed in a bag. All the pieces were enclosed and each part fit purr-fectly. My cats are not small, this tree is great for them. They love to be together and the top is big enough to accommodate both with room for another. A good selection.
I have severe inflammatory arthritis, but I was able to assemble this cat tree. I did use my own Allen wrench, which has a longer handle than the one that comes with the cat tree. I thought the instructions were simple. My cat, who hasn't had a cat tree in the two years that I've had him, took to it immediately, scratching, climbing, checking out every nook and cranny. He wore himself out and has been fast asleep in the hammock for the last hour. He's a 4 year old tabby cat, over 10 pounds, but not huge, he was able to climb the highest sisal post without any wobble. I think it's about as sturdy as you can expect something of this height and weight to be. I might put something heavy in the bottom apartment for good measure. I chose this tree for sturdiness, size, the variety of sleeping and perching areas, and because it's designed to encourage the cat to go from step to step rather than jumping from great heights. Also because the sisal posts are wrapped in sisal from top to bottom, so the cat can really stretch and won't accidentally scratch less durable material. I like that the hammock bed is supported on both sides, so it shouldn't sag (and there's enough room for a cat larger than mine). I was surprised that he's not sleeping on the top perch, but it is very large, it would easily accommodate two cats or a very large breed. I'm pleased, this seems like a nice sturdy cat tree with all of the features I was looking for, at a good price.
... but now we don't get as many cuddles. Every night our cat used to cuddle with us, but not anymore. He has his hammock, and that's all he needs. But more seriously, our cat loves this cat tree. He especially loves the hammock, but is happy to run, jump, and climb it all day (and night) long. Our cat is a little big for the cubby at the bottom, but on occasion, he'll wander in there for some alone time if he's feeling over-stimulated. Due to the location we have the tree in, we aren't using the wall anchor that was included, but it seems very sturdy and only shakes a little bit when he jumps on it. One of his favorite ways to get to the top perch is to climb the poles themselves (including the grey ones without the sisal roping), and the tree itself never looks unstable or unsafe. The top perch has lots of room for him to stretch out on -- and even play on if he's feeling extra feisty. While I can't speak to how multiple cats would interact on it, our single cat absolutely loves it. It's a great cat tree! For reference: our cat is 4 years old, about 3' long at full stretch, and about 15 lbs.
Our 2 boys loved and use this tower so much that we bought a second one about 6 months after the first one and here we are again 6 months later looking at another tower and we just bought a third one because for the money we want something that will last and that the boys will enjoy for years to come. These towers are rugged and tough, the boys will be happy to have another tower in another window. Our boys aren’t lite, one is 12 lbs and the other is 14 lbs
My cat, Stewart, is a hefty guy. This cat tree is very sturdy and was simple to put together myself. I love the fabric that it's made of and it feels durable. Stewie couldn't even wait until it was fully assembled to start exploring. So far his favorite spot is the hammock. Definitely recommend this cat tree!
I've gone through several cat towers over the years, but this has been my cats' favorite. It's nice and sturdy, and has lots of platforms for my one cat who is a non standard munchkin, so she can climb up to the top without trouble. They love all the scratching posts and sleeping in the little hammack. My only complaint is that I wish I could have found replacement sisal posts. They are a non standard size and therefor impossible to replace. It lasted us several years but we were eventually forced to buy a whole new tower (the same one) because the posts and been completely stripped and all attempts at repair were futile. Bit of a shame since the rest of the tower was in near perfect condition. But, as I said, they truly love this post, so I just had to replace it with the same one.
This cat tree is really sturdy and tall and I love it. However, there is one important thing to point out. The bottom little hiding box is just velcroed into place. My cat went into the box and got one of his toes stuck between the base of the box and the base of the cat tree. It was very painful for him based on his loud cries. We got rid of that cheap bottom box. I recommend you do too beause I can't imagine if that had happened when we weren't home. He is ok though and can now enjoy the cat tree freely. For a tree so expensive, there should really be a sturdy box on the bottom instead of the velcro cardboard box.
Ive had this cat tree for over a year and it is the best one Ive bought from chewy hands down The two big boys who are both are around 18lbs can jump all over this thing and it does not move. The top spot as we call it is big enough for two cats and the hammock is perfect for a nap Even their hair is easy to clean off and the rope has held up extremely well it hasnt started to unravel like most trees
I got him this cat tree because he had been running all over the house and wanting to climb higher. Now he can!! I'm so glad I bought this and every time he jumps, it seems to hold his weight evenly!! Steps for setup were also incredibly easy to follow. Might be ordering another one soon!!! I have to say though, I'm a little worried because other reviews have said that it's easy for cats to slip off of this when running up and down...hopefully it won't be the case for mine!!
My twelve pound cat who is almost two years old jumps on this thing, scratches it, acts like a complete monkey on it and it still never even budges or falls, it fits him perfect and it is big enough for our new kitty who is around six months. It was 100% worth the price, and an amazing Christmas present for the babies.
