are there scratch part replacements, or do you have to re-purchase the whole thing again?

Last I checked. Chewy advised they were not offering replacement parts "at this time." All previous posts asking the same Q as you had been removed. Not only do they not offer replacement parts, but you cannot even turn the cylinder upside down so the unused portion can be used. Yes, the whole thing has to go into the landfill. Shame on Chewy. 9/3/23

Not really a question. In to reply for those asking about replacement parts. We never throw any tree or scratching post away, we recover everything. Pick up carpet door mats and sisal rope at the hardware store. Hot glue or contact cement to attach. Duct tape in place until dry.

I agree. Just use a little ingenuity and you can repair this easily.

Is the 22” one large enough for a 12lb cat or will he knock it over?

The base is stable and made from engineered wood to support kitty playtime. A determined cat may be able to knock this post over.

How can I tell which size to get my cat? He's not overweight, but he is a solid 15lbs with a 16in chest if that helps.

Cactus scratcher is very tall and stable

I love everything about this cactus scratcher and my 3 cats use it daily. Very tall, heavy weight and sturdy. My cats are very big/tall and they could never knock

I love everything about this cactus scratcher and my 3 cats use it daily. Very tall, heavy weight and sturdy. My cats are very big/tall and they could never knock it over. The material takes a long time to show any wear even when used multiple times daily -as my cats really try to punish it!! I replace it every 2 years as a Christmas gift to my cats. We are on our 3rd one. I recommended the cactus to my daughter and she also purchased one for her cats for Christmas.

Both Cats Loved It

This lasted about 2 years, technically a little less cause my cats had absolutely scratched it top to bottom but they were still using it even when it looked like

This lasted about 2 years, technically a little less cause my cats had absolutely scratched it top to bottom but they were still using it even when it looked like it should be tossed. But its finally being set out for the trash. I bought 2 other scratching posts that were tall and rectangular but my oldest still doesn't seem to love those as much as she loved the cactus one so I will definitely be replacing it in the near future.

I have a previous history of this green cactus on another kitty, also 8 years old who loved this cactus for over 10 years! Aggie, who I adopted just after the other cat passed away at 18 and 1/2 years old, had used this scratching post her entire life! Imagine a 3 foot green cactus in your living room or wherever) that attracts kitties the day you put it together. No catnip, just green with the sisal roping covering almost all of the post. That means high value for low cost, easy to assemble (I'm disabled, 71 year old woman), very durable and stable. Because of the high quality of this green cactus it will last for many years. Also can be used by mulitple cats at the same time. Highly recommend this product. This is also a conversation piece when combined with your decor to initiate many happy times with cats and humans!

No option to replace the post

I wish there was a way to replace the scratching post segment or flip it once one side is pretty warn down. I'm not a fan that you essentially have to buy a whole

Fun and attractive! The green seems neutral because it's a cactus.

All 5 cats enjoy it, started scratching on sisal sections while I put it together. It was incredibly easy to put together, with clear instructions, labeled parts

Labeled parts helped as it might have been difficult to tell parts apart, even with one being larger, one having dangling pom-pom toy. Pugsley immediately tried it out when I finished.

Most of my cats love it. The material at the top (carpet) does tend to come away quickly. But otherwise its been the best scratcher I have found. It keeps my cats

It keeps my cats from scratching the furniture, is sturdy and can handle a cat on top (I have several love getting up there). I have one who tries to use it before I even finish putting it together.
