A new friend
I like the litter, it doesn’t have a strong smell, it isn’t expensive and it doesn’t make my house smell like clay cat litter mixed with pee. I bought my second bag and got an extra fresh one. We opened the box and picked up the bag and a little worm was inside. After a bit of googling I find out that it is a fall webworm. Maybe the newer bags don’t have this kind of issue but my first and second bag were the old design. Not gonna lie I really wanted to keep the worm but we decided we didn’t want an infestation on our hands and threw the whole bag out. The fall webworm is apparently an invasive species so we decided against opening the bag. The litter does track but if you have a mat it keeps it pretty contained. If you have a longhair cat you mind find a piece or two every now and then in her fur. I do recommend this litter because I don’t hate the smell, it clumps well, and if my cats cover their business I don’t smell it.
Wouldn't Exactly Say 'Lightly' Scented...
I've been using grass seed litter ever since they 1st came out with it (I mix w the Garfield litter, as each works better w #1 or #2), but this is the 1st time I bought the SCENTED version when unscented was out of stock. Boy was I sorry for what I put my poor cats (w an evn better sense of smell) thru, having to endure the heavy perfume smell in that enclosed space! It was way too heavy of a scent for me just pouring it out of the bag & evn after mixing it w the other litter, still overwhelming! The litter itself works great (though tracking is horrible), but for me, I prefer the better clumping of #1 w the Garfield cassava litter better - while this works much better 'drying out' the other waste, which helps eliminate that odor until I get the chance to clean the box out. I recommend this litter, but we will be going back & sticking tonthe unscented. The only other issue is how expensive its gotten (& not just bc of inflation) Used to be under $20 for a 20lb bag & then it seemingly kept going up as more ppl bought it... kind of a shame
Clumps Great, No noticeable scent
I love this litter for clumping. It works great in that aspect.I’ve used another brand of grass litter and loved it as well. The only problem with this type for me is, it naturally has a scent that I don’t care for. I was hoping that this one being scented would help alleviate this issue for, but it doesn’t have enough of an additive to mask the natural smell. I will continue to use the grass litter, however I’m going to have to add some type of scent to it.
Mild scent, effective litter
I have been using the unscented grass litter for a few years, but when I went to restock, I saw this was a little cheaper. I use a large concrete mixing tub in my basement for my 14lb linebacker built cat to give him plenty of space. I love how the urine is easy to scoop (kinda forms a pancake on the bottom of the tub) and once you scoop, there is no odor in the litter so I don't have to empty the whole tub very often. My cat hasn't been bothered by the scent and I can barely notice it. This litter is just as good for us as the unscented!
My Husband’s Favorite Litter
My husband has declared this as his all-time favorite litter ever. He works from home and his office shares real estate with the litter box. This litter captures the smell so well, he doesn’t have to clean it immediately after use. It clumps perfectly so you can scoop out everything with ease. Highly recommend, will repurchase. PS we had trouble with finding a clay litter that would clump and experienced bugs in the wheat based litter. This grass litter has been a huge upgrade and the cat had no hesitation during the transition.
Tracks but worth it
I really like this litter. Reordering it for my single cat about every 7 months or so. Scented or unscented both work just fine. Cons - this litter is very fine and tracks. I have a bartender drying mat infront of the box which helps and sweep often. Pros - great texture that is easy to clean. Weight is light compared to the volume of the product which makes moving it easy. Lasts a long time with no bad smell. Natural grassy smell. Scented version does not appear too heavily scented to me. Would definitely recommend if you keep up with the tracking dust. Price is right for the time it lasts too.
After years of happily using this and a few other brands of natural litters, I ordered a box of clay litter (trying to save a dime) and immediately regretted that decision. The clay was heavy, dusty and the chemical fragrance was so overwhelming, it gave me headache from the other side of the house. I quickly reordered this tried and true grass litter, and I will never stray again. It really is lightweight, dust free and although "scented", the smell has never made me want to leave my own house.
Leaves No Dust!
Really like this litter! Great for people with allergies. It does track but is easily swept up or vacuumed.
Eco friendly cat litter. So much better the clay. Not messy and this one has a light scent. My cat likes it too.
Clean smelling and no dust so far. Cat likes it so that’s what matters
